The Flood / Re: Halo Archive got a new website!
« on: January 30, 2015, 05:17:10 PM »
I think their design is fundamentally broken. The header looks great, but when you scroll down that's when the inconsistencies begin. The footer is also terrible. The images on the main slider have different font styles and approaches. The blog page is the best part of the design, but it suffers of some strange choices in color, and images featured on the articles. (Not being consistent) Where the fonts on the partners page is a disaster. Needless to say, that the design is not integrated with the forums is the worst aspect of it.

Maybe to test the effects could involve establishing a third neutral-gendered bathroom that is open for both (or any) genders in some schools as an experiment to see the effects on the students.

If someone is born female on the other hand then it is magically OK for them to enter the men's bathroom?

If you're born a boy, that's what you are. Allowing boys to enter a girls bathroom is creepy and unnecessary.

That's a javascript error since the mobile buttons were triggered for a desktop-sized window.

What in the world did you do to get it like that? Hard refresh?

What did you do right before it started doing that? Do you have anything disabled? Any plugins that could be affecting the site?

I am locking this thread. If you want to submit feedback that is to be respected then your language is expected to be as such.

I would make the first one great to gather a huge audience, the second one mediocre with some let downs on purpose and the third one to leave a "meh" effect and a long-winded ending while I count the money I made from the franchise.

No, I find most (if not all) streamers, and youtubers annoying wherever I watch their videos. I tend to avoid watching them as I otherwise inevitably always get the wrong impression and hate them. (I also find the kind of humor involved annoying or bothersome, but I can see why it's successful)

No, but a couple of friends of friends in road accidents.

This is awful.

That's probably a secondary reason they did this. They see marriage as a union between man and woman...and God.

If you are having fun twisting everything I say with the extreme stupid view then please by all means continue to do so. I won't stand for further insults such as this. You are doing it on purpose, or your testosterone levels are up to the sky.

"We bully gay people because we hate them/dislike them/don't approve of their thing they don't have control over/they are an affront to our religion and/or god"

Oh boy, much discussion, such understanding. At last I finally see. If gay people don't want to be bullied they should just stop being gay. It's that simple, I don't understand why they can't just decide to be straight. I mean they did choose to be gay after all.

Serious / Re: "Both sides of the argument should be represented"

No, but certainly it shouldn't exclude some understanding and discussion on what causes bullying and how it is related to the bully, and the person who is bullied.

So you're saying they should be holding a class on the justifications for discriminating against people for biological dispositions that they have no control over. Don't sugar coat this, because that's exactly what it is.

Serious / Re: "Both sides of the argument should be represented"
« on: January 28, 2015, 11:09:00 AM »
The other side is rather what causes bullying, what leads to bullying and why is sexual orientation used as a reason to do the bullying in the first place.

Isara, the other side of this argument is "This is why you should bully and encourage discrimination based on sexual orientation". I don't really think this is a side that needs to be taken into consideration.

Both sides of an argument should be taken in consideration, but a more proper evaluation of the subjects is preferred over a sudden and stubborn decision.

Depends on the context. If you are a stranger to her taking advantage of her intoxicated status to have your way with her then you are simply asking for trouble. (Besides the adverse effect that sex in this context has on people)

Unlike Bungie.net we don't force all design choices down people's throats.

985
If he's any better than previous governments then he should be able to make a stand.

Oh, I cannot wait for Merkel and Germany to get their say to Tsipras.

That will be amusing.

I really doubt that the European Central Bank will ever do either. So we're fucked.

The point is that they could be if the European Central Bank actually got its act together--or, better yet, was abolished. Good monetary policy makes austerity literally irrelevant.

986
The willingness to tackle onto these things is already a good start from the laid back, and dooming situation of earlier governments.

That's great and all...but there are far bigger fish for Tsipras for deal with in Europe before I would consider supporting his policies.

987
The policies that the austerity involves are not to be ignored. The European Central Bank and how it has driven things amok for the Greek banks is a beast of its own.

Greeks have no problem with austerity; they have a problem with the European Central Bank.

They just don't realise it.

988
I don't think that they will. Mr. Tsipras has been playing his cards already, and foreign policy has been improved. There's also the matter of improving relations with Macedonia (Or FYROM), Albania, Turkey that would allow more trading and additional routes that could be exploited by the heavy trade hubs of Thessaloniki and Athens.

(New Democracy, and PASOK didn't work exclusively on improving those terms. Worst part is that they also encouraged the current situation with the lack of foreign trade in Thessaloniki. Where establishing trade routes was something dropped as far as back as the late 80's)

I won't be surprised when they fail.

989
That is why also, it's important that Syriza does play its role well. Otherwise, the next step, and obvious solution for the damage caused by the austerity is Golden Dawn in the eyes of many. Greeks are fed up with the austerity, but not fed up to actually meet the debtors, but possibly in a manner that is more humane than what's actually going on.

Sure, I'm not denying any of that. But the point is that the Greek government was exceedingly profligate, through corruption or not, prior to the sovereign debt crisis and the austerity is a response to that--whether it's been marred by corruption or not. Hell, what little austerity Greece has seen was beginning to work, as the economy began to grow in 2014 Q2 and was the EZ's fastest growing economy in 2014 Q3.

Of course, this all ignores one of the largest problems with the Greek economy, which is the Eurozone itself. Austerity, when looking at the monetary union, really does fall by the wayside in the damage it has done.

990
Perhaps it is, and that is inexcusable. However, the previous governments weren't supporting of a number of political reforms that Syriza, on the other hand will partake into. If Syriza will do what it has promised then there's a possible chance of approaching a better number of solutions for Greece that do not necessarily push the country to the extremes.

I wouldn't make excuses for Spain or Italy - however, Greece is arguably in the worst position.
