Look...either way, they're going to be using a stall.

The girls room only has stalls, so a MTF will have to use them anyway.
For the boys room, a FTM will (likely) have to use a stall as they most likely have not had any surgical work yet.

It's not that big a deal.

If the school's staff allows one student to enter the restroom of their choice, then they should also allow everyone else to use whatever restroom they want as well. Why should any person receive special treatment over established standards? Receiving special treatment is not equality.

I work with some trans people and they all use whichever bathroom they want. Nobody bats an eye. The again, we're not backwoods hicks, so it's a non-issue.

Maybe to test the effects could involve establishing a third neutral-gendered bathroom that is open for both (or any) genders in some schools as an experiment to see the effects on the students.

Do you think it would be easily abuse-able? Do you think it would freak out the other kids?

In my honest opinion i think it's okay for transsexuals to use the other gender bathroom like if she's born a male and she's now a female, she's going to that bathroom and you cannot go back.
