Not really working on any game in particular, but there are certainly some ideas, but I won't be able to execute them for a long while.

Are you working on any games at the moment? Any ideas floating around you want to start on?

Meanwhile in the head of the person by the counter

"He wears black converse with pink?! The pink is so out of date, not even girls wear it anymore, nor it matches with the rest of his clothes!"

This weekend, I was at the bowling alley with some of my softball team. When you rent bowling shoes from the alley, you usually give them one or both of your shoes so you don't walk away with their rentals. So I graciously handed over my beloved Converse.

But upon returning to the counter at the end of the night, a terrible thing happened. As the guy behind the counter went to retrieve my shoes, he couldn't find them, because surely the black Converse with the pink tongue certainly couldn't be mine.

Sheepishly, he holds up one of my shoes. "uh....are these yours?" he oppressively asked.

"Yup" I replied, and walked away.

The nerve of him...

Usually the dubbed versions of Yu-Gi-Oh and the ones outside of Japan tend to hide certain things that happen in the original show. Where the original anime itself which later inspired the card game, had in the manga been only briefly referenced. In the manga Yami is basically someone who plays some "dark games" and the loser, in fact, dies by losing their soul. Certainly the anime took a more bright road for story development, as the manga did towards the last parts.

I actually don't watch any anime...

The only one I ever watched were DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon; and I have been done with those for years.

They aren't giving details on the drones. That's more concerning than what the law allows on handling the drones themselves. Suppose it's not a terrorist group then it could be a secret agency. One could quickly assume Russia, but the worst could be that it's another agency from an EU country.

The series wasn't also bad, and some of the films are entertaining. I have a hard time finding the Conan Edogawa v.s. Arsene Lupin III movie though.

Yeah, his movie is the one I saw. I vaguely remember it, but I do know for a fact it had really funny parts and it's a great film.

That one is a timeless classic! I also read some of the manga. Those were funny as well. Miyazaki was also involved in one of the movies if I recall...

Arséne Lupin III

Spoiler
The Castle of Cagliostro follows gentleman thief Arsène Lupin III, who successfully robs a casino - only to find the money to be counterfeit. He heads to the tiny country of Cagliostro, the rumoured source of the bills, and attempts to save the runaway Clarisse from the Count Cagliostro's men. Lupin enlists his associates, Jigen and Goemon, and sends his calling card to the Count to get Inspector Zenigata, his longtime nemesis, to the castle. After becoming trapped in dungeon under the castle, Lupin and Zenigata form a pact to escape and foil the Count's counterfeit operation and save Clarisse from her forced marriage to the Count.

Spoiler
I slapped that from the wiki, it's been a while since I've seen it. There's a older version.

The Flood / Anime Recommendation Thread
« on: December 21, 2014, 10:20:58 AM »
Since we all probably watch different anime, I think it's called that we share the ones we like the most! Those who spoke with me before probably know this suggestion, but I would suggest any hardcore sci-fi fan to watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

It features the war between a galactic empire and a free republic. The details about the main characters go on, and on, introducing many secondary characters who share their own thoughts and views with others. It touches many subjects, and it is based on a novel. Featuring many things from more hardcore sci-fi, such as big battles, politics, religion, and all the wonders of space playing into a mix. Of course, with plenty of classical music to go with each occasion; making it quite enjoyable.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes

Note: Any derail attempts will be outright deleted.

I just think that equality implies a lot of things, including tackling on big problems such as rape. Excluding some men-related issues or women-related issues on the subject won't ever bring something good.

Apparently there's a lot more homos than we think.

Mostly for if I'm talking to Isara.

« on: December 20, 2014, 08:17:32 AM »
Seems you are actually onto something here... I am intrigued, can you forward a PM with some details?

No, not that much. The moderation team still needs to remain "above" the community as it were.

I think a good start would be more communication between the users and the moderators. Such as a "We've got your report, and have done X or Y", or "We've got your report and the whole team is considering it".

I don't know about the volume of reports, which could make such a thing difficult. That could, however, be remedied by either a larger moderation team, a more standardised system of assessment and punishment and a more inclusive role for the monitors. The first one, of course, is least desirable as you want to maintain the ratio at something reasonable, although expanding the remit of monitors to act as communicators on behalf of the ninjas - sort of like press secretaries - could be a potential solution.

We shouldn't have access to the chat logs, though.

What would you want more? The chat logs?

I will say, however, that the moderation system genuinely needs more transparency.

That's an important issue in the army. Why would anyone rape anybody; especially on your own side? The problem isn't just the chances a woman has of getting raped, but in general that anyone in the army runs a risk of getting raped, especially by allies. That's touching an issue which as a whole is a behemoth. Especially the way that the male cases are handled isn't great either.

and in general women in the military are about three times more likely to be raped - especially by the enemy.

Heh.

Combine all of this with their tradition as supporters to any big war effort and their socio-biological roles as mothers, I'd rather not bring women into the fold of licensed killers.

What is your perception of women, or women in the army? Because it's a mess. Most people in real life aren't like Tumblr bloggers.

I'm fine with women fighting at the front lines, just so long as they realise they could be fighting someone who will be treating them as a combatant, and won't make it a "fair fight" to survive just because it's a woman vs a man.
