I'd say Dragon Ball and Cowboy Bepop are the most acceptable anime to watch for normal people
Normal meaning what in terms of media consumed?

It makes exploring the environment a lot more fun
How?

Mainly because some parts are rarer than others and the hope of finding one drives you to search the place

I was in constant need of blades and binding in TLOU so where I would normally just sneak past everything, I went through each infected filled room to find stuff
Do you still consider those experiences fun in retrospect? A week after doing them? A month?

Gaming / Probably Familiar Game Philosophy Question
« on: April 09, 2017, 05:54:30 PM »
Reading this before answering the poll may ruin the thread. Continue?
I know the story of Undertale without having played it. It's my steam library, yet I've played the game for only seven minutes. The consensus I've seen among friends is "Undertale's not really worth playing if you know what happens."

I wonder... if Undertale were really an experience worth playing, wouldn't the story be somewhat incomplete without the gameplay experience? If the distinction of games over other media forms is in the experience of play, are stories which  alone sell the experience worth playing rather than watching?

Is Undertale worth playing?

Do walking sims have any place in gaming as opposed to cinema?

I have an excellent discord but you must complete a series of tedious chores to access it.

If I haven't pestered you about it at some point it probably means I hate you.

I am unsure whether I'd be bored of the experience after around 20 hours. Is there an exploration cycle you find yourself falling into, and if so what is it? Does it get tiresome?
If I picked up the game I would play it for exploring the world. I've spoiled the story for myself and don't really like its execution, so I would probably avoid it.

I think I'm getting at "is the gameplay experience worth the investment?"

I don't like anime, but I'll watch Dragonball

Fuck off.

It's ok to like Dragon Ball
Ain't nothin wrong with enjoying DB. In cases where my post applies the hypocrisy is a little overbearing. It's part of that "I don't like anime, except this one anime" exceptionalism bullshit that's annoying.

you can like dragon ball and hate anime.

most anime is perverted and sexual, dragon ball isnt. it has its moments but its about martial arts at the end of the day.

its like the most western anime possible.
You can like dragonball and hate MOST other anime. When you say "I hate anime" that set includes all of it. You could say I hate anime GENERALLY and it would be fine. I think the semantic nitpicking is justified here because whenever people make an exception for anime that's "good," yet dismiss the medium and other potentially watchable shows it just demonstrates how lazy and complacent people are with their media consumption.

nah. i dont say "i hate most rap", i say i hate rap even though i like a few songs here or there.
Yeah, and its a pretty dumb habit.

>asks for company

>person says "sup"

>immediately calls him evil and shit

lmao
lol jive isn't a person
He's a god
God doesn't seem right.

I'm not certain there's a word that correctly deifies Jive.

More like a Titan before they were betrayed by the gods.

Why does the pic feel disturbing. I can't look away as I am enamored by it, yet at the same time I want to look away because I am disgusted by it. It's pure art. Who is the creator of such fine work?

What made you want to peek back here?
I saw the news about Sandtrap and wanted to say something. We didn't PM much, but it doesn't take much to know he was a good guy.
Even before that I was curious what people here thought about Trump's "Syria strike."

Then I saw verb's post in your Fallout thread and couldn't resist pestering him (I haven't even played Fallout 1 or 2 and I didn't mind 3).
It's a damn shame you can't favorite posts on this website.

I saw Sandtrap's thread and wanted to personally pay my respects to him by reminding people that he wanted them to live good lives, so they should use this moment to improve to honor him.

Why do you randomly leave and return to Sep7agon?
In the past I've gotten bored/frustrated with the kinds of discussion I see, because I dislike particular posters, or because there's no utility in being here generally. Lately it's because I feel done being around people who seem to have given up living as they desire for what society necessitates. It's like they have no faith in themselves, and though my viewpoint is naive it's preferable to being content with whatever "the system" throws at you and begrudgingly accepting it till death. Biggest personal problem it presents is resentment of people instead of focusing on what I need to do and realizing other aren't trying to accomplish the same things I am anyway.

Are you the one who liked chocolate dragon girls or the other dude who used the fun timer account?
I'm almost certain no one's ever used that account besides me. Chocolate dragon girls are a criminally underrepresented fetish in the hentai community.

Oh you were Fun Timer. I remember liking you.

How's life? How come you came here?
I'm alright, trying to feel less guilty about how I've lived so far and trying to figure out life as the person I desire. I saw Sandtrap's thread and wanted to personally pay my respects to him by reminding people that he wanted them to live good lives, so they should use this moment to improve to honor him. Then I saw verb's post in your Fallout thread and couldn't resist pestering him (I haven't even played Fallout 1 or 2 and I didn't mind 3).

Where'd you come from?

Both online and geographically.
Earliest communications with this community was in b.next and I made the move to sep7agon with Fun Timer, then Epsira. I was also Epsira on b.next. I live in Colorado.

"Verb, you're generalizing, I'm a Fallout fan and I'm super cool!"

i'm just waiting

i'm JUST waiting
"Verb, you're generalizing, I'm a Fallout fan and I'm super cool!"

Even though people who enjoy the more recent Fallouts objectively have no taste (unless we speak of our lord and savior New Vegas of course) I'm sure they can be useful to society somehow. When we run out of fossil-based fuels and haven't properly invested in green energy I'm sure they'll make good kindling.
