Expressing it's a weird way of thinking doesn't necessarily mean consideration of my ideas. I haven't heard one valid argument against my main problem with sep7 banter, it's been reactionary "lol he's so retarded he takes this place seriously, he's blowing things out of proportion" or recently "maybe he should leave?" So far there hasn't even really been a conversation, and I won't be surprised if there isn't one.
The issue, also, isn't me actually believing people here are racist (though after like two years of the same shit yeah I've wondered), it's the regurgitation of sep7 banter sentiments which are like... old, and I don't find them humorous? I'm still waiting for someone to explain why they do it and what I'm missing, but no one has been so kind informing me thus far. Maybe people here just don't need justification for their behaviors, maybe they're on autopilot?
Rather stop or take this to pms than screw up the thread though.

I've never watched more than 5 minutes of it. Hate the opening, the colors in the show really throw me off for some reason (it's like too saturated). I came off reading the manga and my expectations for the visuals were probably unreasonably high given Miura's artistic talent. At the time I tried watching the dub and it was horrible, but I'm biased against dubs.

I'm pretty sure I recommended Grave of the Fireflies. I recommend it to everybody, especially people that dislike anime.
Either way, many of us here have shilled for Studio Ghibli, so you should've watched all those movies first.
For some reason I'm also vaguely remembering that recommendation.
I can understand why Verb didn't watch it sooner though. For someone who isn't enthralled by the ghibli style wading through 20+ movies would seem like a chore.
