Can't instert vids. Youtube button seems to have disappeared for some reason...

Thought these were a couple interesting videos. Mostly about [American] liberals' unwillingness to condemn or criticize Islam. Kinda proto-anti-sjw stuff. Also touches on Yale atheists' refusal to host Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Really good watch. Nice to see some push back to this nonsense.
Spoiler
Ben Affleck is a douche.
Thoughts?

The nemisis system is fantastic.

When I started the game I ended up getting killed by a random orc while trying to learn the combat. He was promoted to captain for defeating me. So, naturally I forgot about the main missions and side quests and hunted him down to exact my revenge. Killed him while riding a caragor-thing (mauled him to death). About an hour later I'm in the middle of hunting down another orc. I'm just about to kill this new captain when suddenly the guy I thought I killed previously comes out of no where to cross blades with me. He was sporting some wicked scars this time and was a lot stronger. He ends up beating the shit out of me.

For the next few hours he proceeds to hunt me down everywhere I go and kill me. Getting more powerful and rising higher in rank each time. Eventually he's so strong I can't go near him. I'm furious at this point. I've completely forgotten about the game and its now my life goal to murder this random orc frack. So I work on leveling my character. Killing minor orcs / collecting things. Eventually I get set up, plan out this epic raid of a fort the guy is hiding in. Stealth in and kill all the archers. Set off traps and distractions. Kill the guy's gang. Get him alone. Huge long epic fight and I finally kill this fracking bastard.

All that without barely touching the story. He's not even a main character. Was just some random NPC who turned into my arch-nemesis. This game is great.

Gaming / Intel pulls ads from Gamasutra.

Caving to the pressures of the Internet, Intel has pulled its ads from the Gamasutra website amidst an ongoing controversy known as Gamergate.

The chip maker confirmed to PCMag that it pulled the ads, and told the New York Times that it takes "feedback from customers very seriously, especially as it relates to relevant content and ad placements."

At issue is an August op-ed written for Gamasutra by Leigh Alexander, who criticized the current state of gaming. It's "kind of embarrassing," she wrote, adding that "it's not even culture. It's buying things, spackling over memes and in-jokes repeatedly, and it's getting mad on the Internet."
Turns out saying gamers 'don't need to be your audience' and 'gamers are over' drives away gamers and the companies trying to advertise to them. Who knew?

At least it isn't tonal like mandarin. That shit is annoying.
Same exact word can have 4-5 completely different meanings depending on your inflection/pitch.

Hitch had more style. He was just more fun to listen to.
Nothing against Dawkins though. Really enjoy Harris as well. They're all pretty witty in debate.

According to Deej it's a lie by some troll, but it could most likely be a form of damage control.
Meh. Deej is a PR guy so I can't really take his word anymore than I can an anonymous 'employee's'. The thing about the exo intro does make perfect sense to me.

Though I don't think it matters if its true or not. The problem is that its easily believable. The campaign is so lacking in that game that I could believe that they gutted it at the last second. Which is pretty damning either way.

Monsieur DeeJ has already debunked this.
Deej is Bungie's community manager. Literally his only job is to make Destiny seem better than it is so that people get the game and buy the constant bullshit Bungie's feeding them. Of all the people you should trust on this, Deej isn't one.

The introduction you know is closest to the original content, which had more robust and cinematic level design. It was originally designed for the Exo introduction but was generalized to represent all guardians closer to launch.
Well that explains a lot. ffs bungie. Way to ruin what sounded like a decent game. Story? Content? Naw we don't need that shit.

As long as you're doing bounties and strikes leveling during the story isn't an issue.
The real grind starts at 20. You literally grind so you can buy armor so you can grind to get better armor so you can grind to level that armor up. All while playing the same missions/areas over and over.

Was the Doctor Who episode yesterday any good? Haven't watched it yet.
Was as ok as the rest of the season imo. I enjoyed it. Capaldi is good at the role, but the writing has been kinda hit or miss.

They're patching engrams so that they will only give their color or higher (ex: Purple won't give green or blue anymore). And also adding engram rewards to the daily/weekly.

You'd think that would have crossed someone's mind prior to launch.

Shut up.

Seriously Avatar Wan was the only bearable part of the last 3 seasons. LoK's writing is pretty bad. Looks like their moving away from the city and doing some actual adventure stuff this time though. Hopefully there will be less pathetic preteen love quadrangles.
