Its in the video in OP where I'm hearing it. Starts sounding weird at 0:43, so judge for yourself. Sometimes he has that normal deep emotionless voice, and others he sounds like he's doing and impression of a douchey teenager.

I'd like to see the younger generation of republicans take the spotlight. All we see are crotchety old religious dudes that never had an interest in science and see Congress as a paycheck and status. Not that there aren't plenty of democrats that are the same, but the dems have the social media game on lock.
They elected an 18 yo girl somewhere. Black women in Utah of all places. They definitely have a problem getting anyone under 35's vote, but I think they're moving in that direction....slowly.

Dem turnout was abysmal so I don't think this says much about 2016, or the country. Especially if you look at polling on the issues. Will be interesting to see where things go from here though.
Midterms historically have very low voter turnout, anyway.
This is known. Mostly only the elderly get out and vote during midterms. Plus a lot less people vote for congress/state stuff than do for president. So they tend to be older and more conservative. That said the Republicans ran a pretty diverse field and made history in more than a few states.

I'm willing to bet they modernize/moderate themselves on social issues by 2016. We know Rand Paul will be running on that side and he's talking about how conservatives need to let go of gay marriage and pot.
I think they stand a chance to take it if they can keep the crazy out of the message, without causing a civil war with the social conservatives of the party. Moderate Repubs have won the last two primaries, so its possible. Dems are spinning their wheels atm, and Hilary is no Obama when it comes to speaking / hyping the base.
