are you serious? are you ACTUALLY serious? Nintendo is a god damn icon, and their characters are known worldwide and BEYOND the gaming industry. Mario is a household name, and Pokemon is known by all, in what world is generic space soldier #19937 and Laura Croft clone #48 more memorable than a nintendo icon?
Ah yes, Mario and Pokemon.. Two franchises that have been milked into an oblivion. They make Call of Duty: Advance Warfare look like the new boys in town again. All those titles you mention are junk man. They've been used and abused and practically forgotten.

I agree, and I honestly think Nintendo would do WORSE if they tried to make a console to compete with the Xbox/Ps at this point. They have their market and they run the show when it comes to handhelds.
A $500 Nintendo console with all teh CoDs and Battlefields would not sell for shit. That's not their audience. Nor should it be.

The reason they're missing out on most multipats is because they didn't go x86.
Nintendo was founded in 1889. There are very few companies founded in 1889 that are still around today. They also saved the industry from collapse in the 80s. They're going to be more conservative than the other console brands.
Frankly I'm glad they're being weird and doing their own thing. Sometimes its hit or miss, but throughout their history they've innovated far more than the other two brands have.

Probably came close a few times on neogaf before I stopped going there.
Nothing irl either, but I've been close more than once. Mostly in other countries and involving alcohol.
Luckily I can usually talk/mime my way out of most situations.

Attack on Titan is kinda worth a watch. This is one of the situations where the Japanese original is SO MUCH BETTER than the English dub. It has horrible pacing problems and the main character is a twat, but it has good art direction and a decent setting. It's ok.
I'd personally recommend Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Cowboy Bebop, Space Dandy, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, FLCL, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Black Lagoon, Neon Genesis Evangelion, G Gundam, Gundam Wing, Big O, Samurai Jack, DBZ, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
Can't stand dubbed. Only watch it if I have to. Heard about the pacing issues with Titan. Think I might put it on the back burner and knock some of these other recommendations out first. Thx.

Been out of teh anime loop for awhile. Looking for a series to watch, but I have no idea what to start off with.
Preferably something reasonably short. A handful of seasons at most.
I was into stuff like Samurai Champloo, DeathNote, Ghibli stuffs, DragonBall, etc.. Serious or comedy works.
So far I've heard good things about Cowboy Dandy. Attack on Titan gets a lot of buzz, but I've heard mixed reviews there.
