Rare is a formerly amazing company that MS bought and promptly killed. None of the old staff works there anymore. Their reanimated corpse makes kinect bullshit. Though maybe Phil Spencer will do something with them.
Rare was dead prior to the MS acquisition. All the people who made that company what it was had already left by the time MS got ahold of them.
The founders left in 2007. MS bought them in 2002. Didn't help that they just sat on games like Killer Instinct etc. until recently. Instead had Rare working on Kinect games and Avatar swag.

Hyper Light Drifter may drop late this year, but I think it'll end up getting pushed till Jan-Feb.
Not really a full AAA game though, so it probably wouldn't last more than a few weeks tops.

Most of the good games this year are Nintendo exclusives. The rest come out next year. Going by hearsay, I suppose inquisition is probably the next in line on your list. Though I'm not a particular fan of that bioware writing team. While I agree. I think the main problem is that these people are being taken seriously by some in the media, so when your name appears on a list of 'harassers' you probably don't want to just go along with it. Especially if you have a brand you're trying to grow. Not that I would deal with their appeal process since that just gives them legitimacy.

are you serious? are you ACTUALLY serious? Nintendo is a god damn icon, and their characters are known worldwide and BEYOND the gaming industry. Mario is a household name, and Pokemon is known by all, in what world is generic space soldier #19937 and Laura Croft clone #48 more memorable than a nintendo icon?
Ah yes, Mario and Pokemon.. Two franchises that have been milked into an oblivion. They make Call of Duty: Advance Warfare look like the new boys in town again. All those titles you mention are junk man. They've been used and abused and practically forgotten.
I know.. the truth hurts, makes you even want to cry inside. But Nintendo is lacking more originality in their games. Have they created any new iconic characters in the past four years? Or are they still waiving their Kirby dicks and using characters that are 10+ years old in new games?
