We probably disagree on a lot politically, but he has a certain charm to his personality that makes you like him regardless. He's a good shit stirrer.

He doesn't run from a discussion and is up for defending his beliefs. Even if he isn't the best at arguing a point, it's entertaining as hell to watch him push idiots buttons.

You're seeing these people slip more and more into the mainstream. Eventually they will hold elected positions.

Not sure what ever happened to judging people by the content of their character, but at some point that seems to have gone out the window for a lot of people.

Just beat the first boss. First try too. What's funny is, one of my notes was rated good, so it gave me health. Whoever rated it, I thank you. That's the only reason I didn't die when I fought the Cleric.
Nearly had him on the first try but he got me caught on a gate. Beat his ass on the second though.
As long as you stay close and behind him cleric beast is cake. Rocking the sword hammer now :P
hahaha dude I'm on my 5th try and Ive only gotten him to half health

It's funny cuz I can plow through the souls games not but I'm getting fucked up in this game
You want to stay between his legs or behind him. Real close. He telegraphs his attacks.

Oil and molotovs are good if you still have them. Also picking up the hunter gear from the dream, upgrading your main weapon with shards, and leveling end/vit/str/skill. Should be easier with all that.

Open up the shortcut on the left side of the bridge if you haven't already.

So people basically already beating this game? ö.ô
Someone online got the plat yesterday. I don't think anyone here is close to beating it.
Supposedly like a 60hr game.

I heard it sucks as hard as DS2
Besides it getting praised by pretty much everyone?
-No shields
-Aggressively hard

Guys were le good becuz we make game real dificil
So you don't have any actual reasons as to why it's bad?
Its not bad I just don't like the idea of making game for the purpose of being hard.
gimme a c

gimme an a

gimme an s

gimme a u

gimme another a

gimme an l

whats that spell?

C A S U A L!
Its okay for a game to be hard but at this point they avoid allowing people to have fun. They just throw stupid amounts of sword eating enemies at you. And now noshields5u so you must play like Wayne Gretzky
you know, many people find pleasure in a challenge. if every game was Skyrim level easy i would have quit playing games a decade ago. but, when youve been stuck on something forever, wracking your brain thinking of the right strategy to employ, and you finally get in there and get that shit done, you feel like a goddamn hero. it forces you to roleplay; total immersion. thats why i like the souls games. they dont hold your hand. they give you the tools to succeed, throw a bunch of enemies at you, and let you work shit out on your own. i like that. im not a 5 year old kid. i dont need a handicap to get shit done in a game. i dont want a handicap. i want them to throw as much shit at me as i can possibly handle, and more, because it will push me to my limit and make me a better gamer.
I enjoy challenge too. I never said I didn't.

I don't like games that are stupidly hard though. The souls series (specifically demon souls and ds2) are fucking retarded. They are not challenging they are retarded. They are based off trial and error which is takes no skill. Blank enemy jumps out of nowhere and instantly kills you. Idk and Idc anymore. Stop arguing with me and let me have a damn opinion.
I was one of the people who thought the Souls games were overly punishing with cheap difficulty just for the sake of it. Which was very off putting when looking at the series. The arrogance of some of the fan base probably doesn't help.

After playing bloodborne for a couple days I can see that was a wrong assumption. If you die, 99% of the time it's your own fault. You can't just run in swinging and expect to live. It's genuinely challenging the player to play smarter and punishes you when you underestimate an opponent.  It doesn't hold your hand like most other games and expects you to be competent enough to figure it out.

I've learned to combo properly which is a night and day difference. Kinda like the switch axe from monster hunter.

That and to grind out some kills for better gear. Goin a bit smoother now.
What IS the difference? I can't really tell.
stuff I listed in my first post mostly.

I never played the other games, but this seems more about timing and combo flow. Instead of taking hits to the face or lighting em up with magic you have to time your shots and have limited molotovs.

Probably more true to demon souls than dark souls was.

No shield. No magic. Faster paced. More aggressive enemies. More of a horror element to it.
I'm getting my ass beat so far. Need to get dodging for each type of enemy down.
how is it so far? I'm going full no life this weekend. So I'll probably catch up to you and maybe we can co op a boss or 2
You'll probably pass me. First From game. I'm in that phase where you're just miserable and hate the game cuz you keep getting your ass handed to you.

I get super far from a lamp (bonfire), and know I need to find the next one or I'll have to fight through those 50 assholes again. Then it throws an enemy I've never seen before which of course bends me over and has its way with me, and I lose all my progress :(

Determined to get the combat down tho.  I keep panicking even though I know souls enemies go down quicker with confidence.

Invincible children. I get why they do it rating and press wise.
Just annoys me and is really unrealistic when one group is immune to any damage for no explained reason.

We kinda have this weird line where murdering fake digital adults by the thousands is perfectly fine and acceptable, but punching a fake digital kid is super wrong.

So a while back during the launch of bayonetta 2 ninty did a playboy photo shoot to promote the game. Kinda one of those weird things that made everyone do a double take.

Seemed pretty one timey considering the nature of bayonetta, until this happened:

Not sure I understand the logic behind this little partnership, but you gotta admire ninty's balls to do something like this at a time when the politically correct bug is going around.

Got the compromised email as well. Wondering if they're sending them out to everyone cuz they're unsure.

Reset passwords and all that jazz. Not like they could have gotten anything too valuable from a twitch account.

Spoiler

Seriously tho I like how aeroforce gaming's forum is a bit more gaming centric.
They have forum trophies, icons linking profiles for platforms they use, more options than just 'liking' a post.

http://aeroforcegaming.com/threads/team-fortress-2-afg-server.974/

Obviously it would have to be sep7ified as I don't much like their layout. But adding some of these options would be nice.

Like bungle board's coup-z as well but that opens up opportunities for obnoxious imgs, and slows thing down.

I'm not even going to play Bloodborne but hats off to From Software for blowing /v/'s collective heads off
Stop reminding me you're a plebby 4chin user.

I only go on /co/ for real discussion. /tv/ and /v/ are the only other boards I frequent and that's exclusively due to the amount of funposting material spread across the two boards [case in point: Bloodborne]
Hotwheels saved us from cuckchan goji.

Was gonna make a review thread but ipad is poop. Reviews are looking real good so far. Goty territory, tho that'll obviously depend on rest of the year.

I don't like horror games, and never got into dark/demon souls. Looking forward to this tho

« on: March 23, 2015, 09:01:55 PM »
Like, not really?

If anything, my Internet persona is me, cubed. But I think that's more a result of the people I choose to surround myself with. Offline, though I'm quiet, I tend to be the dominant person in a conversation, just like I am here, but I can't say I've ever really went out of my way to insult or hurt someone's feelings if I ever find myself having an argument with someone--because people tend to be a lot more courteous offline.

I'm sure if people acted as stupid offline as they do online, I'd probably be just as vituperative as well.
You sound less annoying in the vocaroo threads. Literally the best compliment I can give you.  ;)

Gaming / Re: Anyone play FF14 ARR?
« on: March 23, 2015, 08:04:41 PM »

Question for you two or anyone else who plays, how's the customization? Like is there much armor diversity looks wise? A dye system? Anything like that? Or does every white Mage run around in the same white and red robe?
you'll have gear sets obviously but there's a dye system. Just running through towns very few people look alike.
ah okay good. I was trying to look into it and see different sets but I was just getting the same generic white Mage robe over and over and I was wondering if just the stats changed for new sets or the actual appearance.
my white mage is only at 37. Uses most of the same gear as I do as a black mage, scholar, or summoner, but that's just cuz I don't have a ton of specialized gear atm.

But ye no white mage robes for me. I look like a badass wizard most of the time. Tho goin for that ninja now.

Gear gets more diverse and detailed the higher the level.
do you think you'll get the expansion when it comes out?
dunno. I'll definitely be tempted. New race, 3 new jobs, new cities.
Just so many other games this year. I'll probably get roped in to picking it up tho.
I've just heard nothing but good things and want this game, but don't want it if I have nobody to play with
Ye solo is rough. Dunno. Don't buy based on just me cuz I'll drop sub if I get busy, and pick it up again later.
Tho can't be hard to find a free company. I get spam invites all the time.

Up to you mang.
what server do you play on? One of my friend from bungie (josh55886, not sure if you know him) says he still plays it "a lot" and that he would play with me if I got it. And this is a really nooby I question because I've only played MMOs where you could freely change servers, or there were just regional servers, but is there any way we could dungeon together if you and I were on different servers? I know we couldn't quest together
I'm on jenova. Have Josh on psn. He's always on there.

Not sure on different servers running the same dungeon. Been awhile since I ran one.
I actually got a 2 week free trail. Been playing it like half the day and I'm really enjoying it so far
wut class u gun pleh?
