The only issue I see with unpinning these threads is the danger that if unsticked, they'll fall inactive and eventually get locked with the rest of the old threads.
That's about it though.
Well, one of the points made by removing this "Official, Hey, Put all your music and art in this thread!" from the stickied gives a bit more incentive to create new threads to discuss each piece a bit more in depth than just putting in a Youtube clip and not talking about it.
But that also opens the door for spamming of those threads.
Personally, I do not like creating threads for my artwork alone. If such was the case, where everyone just made their own threads, I'd likely not show anything of mine hardly ever unless asked to.

Well if you use Isara's thread then you only have to make two clicks to find the Art/Music thread, which is almost as good as the one click you'd need if it were pinned. It's at least better than having to search for it or scroll through the pages of threads.

That should be the goal though, to have as few possible pinned thread.
Not exactly. It's perfectly possible to have absolutely no designated pinned threads for art/music/personal pictures etc. etc. but not everyone agrees with that. Some people like having those types of threads pinned and, at least for them, the goal isn't having as few pinned threads as possible as that would eliminate those pinned threads. Personally, I don't care so long as designated threads are easily accessible and it is clear where to access them so they aren't neglected.
