The Flood / Re: Who started using the word "Dank"?
« on: May 07, 2015, 11:29:55 AM »
Dank weed is called 'dank' because it has that pungent dank smell. Which usually means it's potent. Ergo dank became synonymous with all forms of high grade marijuana. Eventually peeps started using it to describe other things they figured as dope or cool and thus it made its way into internet meme culture.

I find this to be particularly amusing.

How so Chronic?
Couldn't exactly tell you why. Annoyance from such a simple harmless thing is just amusing to me.

It happens though and I like to lessen the butthurt because butthurt folks tend to act like babies
Sometimes I feel like people on here go out of their way to act annoyed.

Anyways, on the subject of foxes, one would be a cool pet to have. Especially a white or silver but I hear they are hard to domesticate.

While the whales might not put up much of a fight, it would take Jupiter countless eons to slay them all. I'm sure he'd lose all sanity by the end of it.

All the local chavs smoke it. Having grown up here I simply am flabbergasted that anyone would genuinely take a good, logical look at the stuff and say "hey, I think it'll be great to start smoking that shit". It has zero positives, and in 50 years time people will look back on weed legalisation and promotion the very same way we look at how tobacco was in the past.
Chavs drink beer on street corners too. What's your point?
And it having zero positives is wrong also. It has multiple health benefits, otherwise it wouldn't be used medically.
It's used to treat specific problems, in specific cases. Just like how mercury is somewhat effective against lesions. Does that make mercury good for you? No, it's still toxic-as is weed.
Cannabinoids have extremely low toxicity levels. The LD50 for THC is so high that it's impossible to smoke enough cannabis to receive a lethal dose.  As for medicinal benefits, cannabinoids have been shown in numerous studies to have a very broad range of health benefits, not specific as you've stated. Especially CBD. To be sure, it still needs to be studied more, definitely.

I'm not sure whether or not you actually believe what you posted or are just being a ruseman, but at least I can say it isn't exactly true by any means; so some others might come to understand it better.

No I completely understand!
I actually wrote this thread a couple of days ago, but I was actually a little afraid to post it.
There's no need to fret. Drug discussion is brought up fairly often on this board.

Even I, as a mod, have listed everything I've experimented with before.

ftr I can't recall any known free proxies with a Georgia, USA ip that traces back to a well known ISP. To be on one almost certainly means having to pay for a Georgia based VPN, which would be particularly ludicrous for attempting to ruse a forum like this.

For a more personal note, I think that you should be shot in the street for having a cannabis related gamertag. (Not seriously, but I find it pretty annoying in MP lobbies to be matched up with a pack of THC 420 BLAZE IT DAWGs <_<)
WHAT ARE YOU TRYIN TO SAY BUB?

Taking it as merely, "Everything is a substance so just injest whatever you want to," says to me that you're not getting what I'm trying to convey. Which is fine, I wouldn't expect you to, as opinionated as you are. It's not surprising you'd think I'd be using such a fact to condone drug use even though I explicitly stated that I wasn't.
then what was your point

to tell me something that i already know
hence, "spare me"

thank you
You seem pretty adamant about limiting influence on your perception. The point I was trying to make is that it is wise to understand that influence as the necessity it is.

I'm not a mind reader, I wouldn't know whether or not you understood that.

It's healthy to have two minds of opposite spectrums in the world.
As long as they are balanced. =]

Well technically your brain is under the influence of substances essentially always due to the things everyone ingests.
ugh, i knew someone was gonna try to bring this stupid-ass shit up

spare me
Spare you of what? The wisdom of understanding such a simple thing?

Yes, it might be a simple fact, and as stupid as you might claim it to be, it is still the truth and truth always helps promote better understanding.

That's kind of interesting because the chemical thc has amazing healing properties that also reduce pain and inflammation. Although it is still relatively knew so mixing it with other medications and antibiotics isn't recommended. I'm glad you have common sense and I hope your infection is cured.
Cannabinoids have been shown to inhibit digestive motility. (Which is probably why they help with things like IBD, Crohn's disease etc.) but I have to detox and flush my system of this infection as quickly as possible so inhibiting digestive motility is definitely not good for me right now.  And smoking anything in general can cause initial symptoms to worsen.

I will say that while THC has some nice properties, it's CBD that seems to be the real medicinal contender.

Actually it's legal medically in Michigan: http://norml.org/legal/item/michigan-medical-marijuana
Why do you hate drugs, and to what degree would you say you hate users of Marijuana versus other drugs?
yeah, i knew that, but that's not quite enough for me and... basically 80% of my state

but i mean, whatever, i'd rather you smoke weed than inject heroin, but it's just the principle alone of altering your perception that i hate, especially when our neurochemistry is so volatile and fragile as it is--why would anyone want to fuck with it

i sure wouldn't
ever

your brain is kind of important--i wouldn't want to alter how it perceives things even temporarily
and no one who values their intelligence should either
Well technically your brain is under the influence of substances essentially always due to the things everyone ingests. (Food, drink, medicine, things absorbed through simple interaction with them, etc.) Of course, not all of them are psychoactive but It's still impossible to remain completely uninfluenced by substances when everything in nature is made of substances.

Essentially your brain's current state is the result of environmental conditioning. Even the genes that governed its makeup at birth were the result of the environmental conditioning of your ancestors.

Everything has an effect on your perception to some degree. I get why one might want to limit that effect, but it's good to understand the necessity of it.  If that influence didn't exist then your perception would have no conditioning and wouldn't have even manifested itself to begin with.

ftr, this post isn't meant to condone drug use.

I've smoked plenty. From 'bobby brown' to 'knock you on your ass.' Gone though periods of smoking chronic every day (Ergo this alias, coined by NoNeckin) and times where I've quit for over a year.

Actually I have about a gram right now of some fruity smelling stuff, I just cant smoke it with this infection.

I feel like dying.

Seriously though, I feel like shit.

:C That's no fun! Are you sick?
I have a candidiasis in my digestive tract and esophagus. Currently killing the infection with supplements but as it dies, the yeast produces a multiplied amount of toxins that give you all sorts of health issues like chronic inflammation, terrible indigestion, acid reflux, fatigue, brain fog, headaches/migraines, reoccurring skin rashes,  the list goes on.

It's honestly the worst illnesses I've ever dealt with, I'd say. Especially since it's been reoccurring for about 3 years now since I've only just recently discovered some idea of what is wrong with me.
