How is that relevant? I'm merely pointing out how his generalization is illogical.
You asked him why you'd hypothetically use obscure bands to feed your ego, which is asking why contrarianism is popular in the first place.
Of course his generalisation is illogical, it's SecondClass. What's even funnier is that he prides himself on being some judgeless martyr, but that's less relevant.
I point these things out so peeps might question the points they're trying to convey, because I feel like they don't quite understand them or at least the subject they pertain to fully, sometimes. As for your opinion of SecondClass and his sense of logic, I couldn't care less. It's completely irrelevant to me or anything I was trying to accomplish in this thread.

things get popular for a reason
It's ironic because you only said this to be a contrarian
except not at all
everyone on this forum has this archaic and obscure as hell sense of music, because they want to look interesting and special
I listen to obscure music because it just so happens that the most interesting, emotionally engaging, and inspiring artists I enjoy are generally obscure.
No one gives a shit about the bands and artists I listen too, for the most part, so why would I use their obscurity as some sort of food for the ego?
OT: Tool is probs my most favorite 'mainstream' band.
Does he really need to explain to you why people like being contrarian

You're not interested in having the conversation because to you this is the ultimate and only truth. Correct. I also don't necessarily care what's true, I care about what works.
This is very ironic because truth works most effectively regarding the absolution of sins and freedom from suffering, ergo to care about what works would logically mean to care about truth.
Only in so far that the truth has benefits. The true nature of the universe has no value, because everything is meaningless and shitty. All that serves is to make people depressed and apathetic.
Placebo's are much more effective.
The true nature of the universe is that everything just simply 'is.' Even meaninglessness has meaning in and of itself, and is thus unfit to truly describe the ultimate nature of reality. Viewing the true nature of things as ultimately meaningless and "shitty" is the result of some preconceived disposition. You cannot gain an accurate understanding of reality through the lens of bias. Understanding truth doesn't condition depression and apathy, it merely weakens the grasp of worldly desires. I can't say what, exactly, it is that conditions anyone's specific depression or apathy, but if they manifest after a better understanding of truth then all I can say is that they are the condition of some perspective on the matter of what has been revealed, and that it is up to the person experiencing these feelings to get to the bottom of it, to figure out the root of their conditioning.

I've come to realize that some people aren't just ignorant to truth as a result of the influence of forces beyond their control, but that they consciously make the decision to remain ignorant to truth, possibly out of fear, to feel like they belong, out of spite, or even just a heart full of illogical doubt, and that all the words and logic in the world may never instill them with the will to see thus the only thing one can do to make a difference is to lead through example and hopefully make them see, regardless.

Why aren't we investing in exploring even more of outer-space, why aren't we putting the bulk of our resources into the advancement of science in general for the benefit of our species, knowledge-wise and technology-wise instead of pouring most of them into war, mindless entertainment, and the perpetuation of superficial material oriented lifestyles?
A rhetorical question, no need to answer.

It's amazing to me that this place still holds any relevance at all over there.

Everything does happen for a reason, if it didn't then nothing would ever manifest into being.
I don't see how any of that requires some sentient force orchestrating it all, however. Cause and effect is purely cause and effect.
Where is this supernatural "reason," ya know?
As I said, I don't see how one is required.

Well I'm leaving for a month. The amount of shitty furry jokes pointed to me are going to increase. I want no part of it
stop reacting to them and people will stop
No it's tradition now, they won't. Nonetheless, stop reacting to them, aye.

Before a bunch of "depends" answers, I mean in general. I'm asking what drives you. Do you work for money or recognition? That's extrinsic. If you are driven by a sense of accomplishment, then it's intrinsic.
In general my passion is waned and I lack motivation due to my illness and the state of my life. If it means anything, at my core I don't care about appearing outwardly successful.

Turkey breast pan fried in olive oil with cumin and green beans.
Not bad for having SIBO. Shit that's kinda how I eat.
I guess it's really tiring nonstop though.
Gotten used to it tbh, although I do have cravings for sweets.

Dietrich is so memey though, honestly. .
I'll take that as a compliment. Swine.
It's not an insult so. . .
Oh, but I'm not real memey. Sarcastic and contrarian maybe, but I like being the devil's advocate.
You're not the memeiest but far more than I am.
We have similar diets tho, kinda evens out
My diet is nothing but chicken, turkey, spinach, kale, and green beans.
