Welcome to 2004 netcode.
Also, this is why hitmarkers aren't a bad thing.
It's because 343 used vista instead of the xbox port.

H2V has got to be one of the worst ports I've ever played in my life.

Boltshot ruined CQC.
What was the point in picking up a Shotgun or Energy Sword when you can spawn with a 1-hit kill weapon?
Even more peculiar, why was it's pre-patch range longer than the UNSC shotgun? I understand 343 wanted to have a unique weapon for the forerunner secondary and a Shotgun pistol sounds good on paper but in practice it's not a good thing at all.
Halo CE is the only Halo game that does the Shotgun right.
Now you're talking. Why did the sound design for the shotgun also never reach the heights of CE? Same with the AR? Or the pistol? Or the fuel rod? Or the plasma rifle?
Erm
Why have we not had a weapon like the Halo CE Plasma Rifle in any game after that? Why is the Halo 4 Sniper Rifle so silly looking? Why could they never get the Flamethrower to be good outside of Halo PC? Why did they keep limiting Frag count when grenade spam is as sensible a concept as bullet spam? Why did Sword fighting mechanics have to suck shit after the Halo 3 melee system was dropped? Why was the Halo 3 melee system dropped? Why are there warning/hazard stickers on random places of the armor in Halo Reach? Who were the drunks that designed Halo 4's armor sets? Why do I have so many questions?
Why did Bungie add spread into Halo 3 after removing it in Halo 2? Why did Bungie add bloom into Halo Reach after the complaints about spread in Halo 3? Why did 343 add flinch into Halo 4 after removing bloom? Was Sword Base an elaborate joke? How come nobody mentions how stupid the Halo 4 rocket launcher sounds? Why were we teased with GUNGNIR? Why did ZBNS Reach, a near perfect Halo experience, get completely ignored by everyone? Why am I asking you all these questions?

Dark Souls. It was so easy that I had to turn it off. Bad games are intellectual poison; they destroy the mind.

Dark Souls is literally the easiest game I've ever played. Once you unlock Biotic Charge and upgrade your Typhoon you can destroy Atheon with ease.

Ugh I haven't had the time to invest myself in reading as of late but I really want to give Nova Swing a read through. The premise intrigued me enough to pick it up a while back but i didn't like the cover so i didn't read it when i could

I will have to read it some day. When I get through all the Nietzsche, Hume, Schopenhauer and Kant books on my shelves >.> Although, I have to say, Camus's extreme scepticism isn't that endearing - although, I could be wrong, since I'm only going from secondary sources.

I have to say I've read differently. From this perspective it seems no different from existentialism. Whaaaa- Try reading something like "Return to Tipasa" [I think?!]. IIRC, Camus highlights that he thinks personal meaning is a thing of beauty, but at the same time it cannot substitute for knowledge of the absurd. Or, could you say, is existentialism more concerned with the values created, while absurdism is concerned with the pursuit of values? Absolutely! That's one of the cruxes of the entire movement. If you ever get the time, read The Rebel. It's a fantastic piece of anti-nihilism which also differentiates Camus' stance from existentialism as well. I'm not saying that for nihilists themselves. I'm saying the way nihilists recognise meaninglessness, to non-nihilists, seems altogether profound and meaningful.

How likely is something like this to threaten humanity's survival?
I'll give it a 6% on the "we're screwed"-o-meter. Even if it does erupt.

but to deny that people can make their own meaning and say we have to embrace meaninglessness seems, to me, psychologically unnecessary. People can and do create their own meaning. Errr... you do realize that absurdism doesn't at all deny that people can make their own meaning, correct? It does state that meaninglessness must be embraced [i.e. pursuit of intrinsic or the even sillier pursuit of objective meaning will end in failure] from a larger, detached standpoint. But absurdists greatly admire the creation of personal meaning. They just maintain that this meaning is certainly not the same as being one with the absurd. It's also like nihilism in the sense that the lack of meaning seems altogether incredibly profound - in the same way, not creating meaning and embracing the meaninglessness is a form of meaning in itself.
Elucidate? Are you stating that the way nihilists recognize objective or intrinsic meaninglessness => meaning for nihilists? Because das silly Spoiler I am also not an absurdist, I just find that viewpoint incredibly intriguing.
