What level math is this Goji?

Uhhh... first year uni?! I dunno what the system is like in the US. I'm certain it's different from the stuff I've seen in the UK.

frack me, I hated proofs so much.

Proofs is a lovely subject to study. It's just not a great subject to be tested on, because sometimes it doesn't even assess your abilities and instead assesses how well you can throw random sh1t on the paper and end up making sense out of it.

*cue 30 minute quiz*
*skim over questions*
"Lol, I got this"
*There's only one at the beginning that seems like it will take over 50 seconds so I leave it until the end*
*24 minutes left*
"K back to that question"
*It's about bounds*
"Lmao this will take 10 seconds max"

"Given f and g are bounded, provide a rigorous proof for why f-g+fg is bounded as well"

23 minutes later

*used triangle ineq once*
*at the point where |f-g+fg|<=|f-g|+|fg|<=[blank]+MN*
*have been at this point for 23 minutes and 50 seconds*
*like 30 seconds left*
*writes "therefore y=|x|+sqrt(1-x^2) and y=|x|-sqrt(1-x^2)"*

*exit quiz*

And that is the story of how BOUNDS managed to screw me over on a test about FIELDS

Real question: holy sh1t what is the goddamn proof for the question

I hate getting proofs wrong because when I finally figure it out I see that the solution was usually right in front of my face the entire time. I'm fairly certain the proof takes like 2 seconds but I wasn't able to figure it out. Google says nothing, and everyone I've asked in the class either didn't answer it or they realized that they answered it wrong after a few minutes of discussion.

Gaming / Re: Destiny Vs. Halo
« on: September 30, 2014, 04:07:41 PM »
With all due respect, what little we know about Destiny's story is really sick stuff. Especially when you compare it to what we knew about Halo's story when Halo 1 had just come out. The problem is you have to replay stuff a lot and collect and read cards to realize it.

If by "sick" you mean "sickness inducing," I agree. In terms of the in game plot and narrative Destiny falls flat on its face. ESPECIALLY when compared to Halo CE's story.

You're confusing depth of the total, overall universe with the actual plot/characterization that people are complaining about. Destiny's Grimoire tackles some of the most complex philosophy Bungie has produced since MI [and the Halo 3 terminals]. But the actual plot/event causality? Characterization? Dialogue? Halo CE blows it straight out of the water.

Not exactly depression but some kind of humbling sadness. Super lonely, and stressing over assignments isn't nearly as fun when people near and dear to you aren't making sarcastic jokes about it in the background.

I dunno, it should make me feel terrible but even though I'm sad, there's this kind of solace attached to it.

Is weeeiiiiiirrrrrdddddd

hang in there buddy

Will do

@Everyone on this site: Thanks for being who you are. It legitimately makes me happy to see people helping people. Even if it's just a sh1tpost that makes someone laugh [of which there are plenty XD].

I'm so sorry, Sandtrap. But keep trying to be you. Hold on to your values, and remember to never ever give up. You've always been an idealist, and one of the most interesting people I've had the pleasure of meeting online.

Stay strong, Sandtrap. You're in our hearts. And we'll beat this thing no matter what.
