What do you like better,

Shoes, bread, or power tools

Bread is the best thing since sliced bread

If you're wondering how the game series are remotely relevant to each other or how this comparison even makes any sense: don't

I just need to find out which one is "the best, objectively"

Mfw you've used this exact post at least 4 times

He's a broken record.
If it ain't broken then it don't need fixing.

You, not the game.
You have preferences, but understand that is all they are.

preferences
I was talking about me.

And Halo 3 having a weak ass story that is hardly present really has nothing to do with preferences.

Your opinion. It carries no weight.

Why wouldn't it carry any weight?

Its an opinion on a subjective matter.

And?

And? There is no "And?".

Opinions clashing with opinions. Nothing more.
I like Halo 3's story, like many others.
You don't like many others. Congratulations.

I almost cut myself on your edge.

So you're saying that there's nothing of value to be found in a discussion premised on difference in opinion? Also, Lemmy's trying to deal with truths here as well [in that he's trying to say Halo 3's story wasn't quite up to snuff in terms of presence (though I assume he means "plot" and not story)] so...

"Edgy" is now my favorite buzzword.

In any event: Glad to see your openness about it! And Kupy all you need to do is keep being Kupy. Your orientation isn't why we love [and will continue to love] you!

He's still silly, but I'm willing to look past our history. And hell most of the antagonism between us was probably my fault anyway [I've had a longstanding opposition to his mentor even before I met him, so when I recognized the connection with him I found an easy target].

Nevertheless, I'm not planning on staying in B.Net much soooo it doesn't really affect me either way. Hope he's accepted from now on.
Is his mentor that crazy old hermit that makes YouTube videos where he rants about how predators should be killed whilst himself owning cats?

Yep, that's the basement dweller you're looking for.

Are we going to mention ringworld? Too obvious?

Ringworld's actual plot and premise are quite different to Halo's actually. The Halo construct is obviously taken from Ringworld, but not much of the actual story.

the visuals were freaking great, good thing too considering Thorne was able to get a scientific paper out of it.

Spoiler
I was referring to the black hole and wormhole but considering that (as far as I know) was the first attempt at representing a tesseract accurately in a motion film it was pretty good.

I couldn't even begin to describe the wormhole's visuals to you if I tried. But the tesseract was that part that seriously made goji.exe crash
It was really disorienting, at first I was like,"the hell is this?".

Combine that with the soundtrack and I was like "I'm so glad I watched in IMAX"

I really liked it. Some inconsistencies here and there but nowhere near what the extremely vocal haters would have you think. I still think about it from time to time, it's very similar to Manifold: Time in some ways.

And Aliens

Premise isn't a ripoff of Aliens. Visual style? You got that right.

Yes, have you?

Yep! Watched it yesterday and I still can't stop thinking about it. What'd ya think of it?

What do you mean by "legit?" Valid? Certainly. Sound? That depends on whether or not objectivism rings true.
