Serious / Native Council Offers Amnesty to Whites.
« on: December 14, 2014, 11:06:54 AM »
Quote
A council of Native American leaders has offered partial amnesty to the estimated 220 million illegal white immigrants living in the United States.

At a meeting of the Native Peoples Council (NPC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico yesterday, Native American leaders considered several proposals on the future of this continent's large, unauthorized European population. The elders ultimately decided to extend a pathway to citizenship for those without criminal backgrounds.

"We are prepared to offer White people the option of staying on this continent legally and applying for citizenship," explains Chief Wamsutta of the Wampanoag nation. "In return, they must pay any outstanding taxes and give back the land stolen from our ancestors.

"Any white person with a criminal record, however, will be deported in the next 90 days back to their ancestral homeland. Rush Limbaugh will be going to Germany. Justin Bieber will depart for Canada. And the entire cast of Jersey Shore will be returning to Italy."

Sustained European colonization of North America began in the 16th and 17th centuries, when arrivals from France, Spain and England first established settlements on land that had hitherto been occupied by native peoples. Over the past 400 years immigrants from these countries and others throughout Europe have transformed the demography of the continent.

Despite their numerical superiority, many scholars question the legality of the European settlement, as it was founded on a mixture of unauthorized immigration, war and genocide.

Progressive native groups welcomed the council's decision today as a step forward towards normalizing relations with the White community. However, many conservative Native Americans are upset about the plan, claiming that amnesty will only serve to reward lawbreakers.

"Why can't we just deport all of the Whites back to Europe?" asks Ité Omáǧažu of the Lakota people, "They're just a drain on our economy anyway. They came over here to steal our resources because they're too lazy to develop their own back home.

"I can't believe we're just going to let them pay a fine. They should get to the back of the line like everybody else - behind the Mexicans."

I'm all for it, if it means I get to go back to Scotland, Germany or Norway.  I mean, I sure as hell won't be able to afford all those outstanding taxes.

Talking with Kupo made me realize something:

Shaman King, one of my top 5 manga back when I subscribed to Shonen Jump, did NOT have a proper ending and literally ended with the writer saying, "Yeah I'm burnt out and don't care anymore, so everything was all a dream, the end."

I'm regaining old feelings of sadness, anger...misunderstanding....denial.....

.....yes.  Reed Richards, AKA Mr. Fantastic--the guy with grey streaks in his hair--is now a child.  And so is The Thing.  And Doctor Doom.

FOX is going to run their Marvel licenses that AREN'T X-Men into the fucking ground.  Same with Sony and Spiderman.

The Flood / A brief understanding about what happened tonight

So for those of you that don't know, the Hyatt hotel in Chicago was evacuated because of a chlorine leak that was on the 9th floor (where I was roomed).  The whole hotel was evacuated into the street, and we were pushed further back until the Chicago Hilton allowed us in.  Every emergency unit in the county responded.

I got separated from my group, and shortly afterwards I began having a sore throat, trouble breathing and started coughing badly.  My brother Xepher rushed me to an ambulance nearby.  They noted by blood pressure was high and I had shared symptoms to other exposed people (at least 5 were hospitalized ).  Thankfully however, my dosage was deemed low.  I took up shelter in the Hilton with Xepher, rested and drank lots of water.  I'm feeling much better now.

We were all stuck in the Hilton until an hour ago when the contamination was contained and the rooms were safe to enter.  It turns out someone (Most likely someone who was drunk) threw a glass jar that contained white powder chlorine on the stairwell of the 9th floor.

Basically everything is ok, the hospitalized are recovering, and I apologize to the Skype chat when I blew up.  I was panicked, trying to find my people and was ill.

Since the fall of the pro-Russian government of Ukraine, as the Winter Games were ending, Putin's Russia has annexed the Crimea region by force, secured a vital warm-weather port in the Black Sea and sponsored a civil war in Eastern Ukraine that has claimed the lives of thousands — all within a few hundred miles of NATO's borders.

Russia's military has taken on an aggressive swagger. Highly provocative run-ins are now common with neighbors and NATO nations alike. In the Black Sea, NATO ships like the U.S. destroyer Donald Cook have been buzzed by Russian fighters. Russian Tu-95 Bear bombers have reportedly been tracked near Canada conducting missile strike drills within range of targets in the United States, and Russian airplanes have been tracked as close as 50 miles from the California coast – the closest they've come since the end of the Cold War.

<snip>

On Nov. 20, Reuters reported that NATO air assets have scrambled about 400 times this year to intercept Russian fighters and bombers that have routinely operated without turning on their transponders, creating potentially disastrous hazards for civilian air traffic.

Russia has also taken to bullying smaller countries on its borders such as Finland, Moldova, Estonia and others,

Defense experts warn that Putin's forces are on a collision course with NATO that pits the U.S. and its allies against a sophisticated, even "mischievous," foe set on resurrecting the Cold War playbook, according to one leader.

'Highly Disturbing'

Russia's aggressive provocations have multiplied over the past year, according to experts. In November, the European Leadership Network think tank released a paper calling the increase in such incidents as "highly disturbing."

The group pointed to about 45 documented confrontations between Russian military forces and NATO, as well as Finland and Sweden, and argued that the risks of sparking a crisis are growing with each incident.

<more snip>

"I think we are in a new normal, and the new normal is bad," Stavridis said in a Nov. 25 interview. "The new normal is not quite the cold war ... we're not quite there. But the new normal will be an aggressive, revanchist Russia that seeks to reconstruct a Warsaw Pact-lite around its borders. … I think it is probably the most significant strategic shift that is underway in the world today."

The U.S. is facing down Putin's navy at sea while ratcheting up pressure on its leaders through targeted sanctions. It remains to be seen whether those strategies will work. For now, Putin's dangerous game is tailor-made to bolster his own popularity with Russians, said Fedyszyn, the NWC expert.

"This is not the left side of [Putin's] brain in operation, don't confuse this with logic," Fedyszyn said. "This is national pride, making Russians feel good about how powerful they are. Russia has been feeling dissed for a long time. Now, having spent a little money on defense, they are showing how tough they are. It's part of Putin's calculus, but it's not exactly smart."

Stavridis agreed, saying that ultimately Putin is hurting his country by damaging its economic ties with Western Europe and the United States.

"What I think you are seeing is a Putin who is tactically very successful: by undertaking an annexation of Crimea; a destabilization of Ukraine; a destabilization of Moldova; by sending ships into the Caribbean; sending out long-range bombers. Where is he successful? He's successful in Russia. That's the audience for those activities. He is banging the drum of Russian nationalism louder than we've seen it in 50 years.

"Those tactics help him immeasurably at home to maintain control and to feed the fires of Russian nationalism. He's going to be tactically successful in those regards. He's going to be a strategic failure."

Saw this on my Navy buddy's timeline and thought this was a pretty interesting read.

There's no doubt Russia has been injecting steroids into their own balls lately with the shit they've been pulling, such as teasing Australia, and it seems to me like Putin's trying to test us.  This article however gave me another suggestion to think on:  Perhaps he's losing support in Russia because he's not been flexing his bear-wrangling muscles at us, so he's trying to bolster his own support and popularity.

What do you guys think?

Gaming / TellTale's Game of Thrones
« on: December 01, 2014, 09:46:21 PM »
YouTube

Episode 1, "Iron from Ice" comes out December 9 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4.  I believe we'll see one episode a month, since there's six episodes.  In six months, Game of Thrones' fifth season will be starting and the end of this game is supposed to be around the starting point of season five.

Description
The game will take place concurrently with the television series, from the end of the third season until just prior to the start of the fifth season. The story will focus on the House Forrester, a family not yet introduced in the television series, but found within the continuity of the books, appearing in A Dance with Dragons. House Forrester is found in the north of Westeros, in a fortress called Ironrath, where they control the valuable Ironwood forest which has attracted rivals to their reign. The game will primarily take place near Ironwood, but will include established locations on both Westeros and Essos continents.

Characters
Throughout the game, the player will control one of five members of the Forresters (either a family member or servant), with decisions made by one character affecting the others, and the ultimate fate of the house. Telltale has stated there are thirteen original characters developed for the game, which include (both playable and non-playable characters):

Lord Gregor Forrester, the father of the House and loyal to the Starks.
Lady Elissa Forrester, the matriarch of House Forrestor that vows to prevent the destruction of her family as had fallen to her birth family, House Branfeld.
Rodrik Forrester, the first-born son of the House and its heir, with a prominent military background.
Mira Forrester, the eldest daughter of the House and serving as a handmaiden to Margaery Tyrell.
Talia Forrester, the second-eldest daughter, who is gifted with a talented voice.
Ethan Forrester, Talia's twin, the third-born son, and an academic that was drawn into the War of the Five Kings.
Ryon Forrester, the youngest son of the House.
Asher Forrester, the exiled son of the House that nearly brought it war and since has resided in Essos to leave that past behind.
Maester Ortengryn, loyally serving the House Forrestor after studying at the Citadel and assigned to the family.[6]
Ser Royland Degore, an experienced military leader that serves as the master-at-arms for the House.
Duncan Tuttle, a good friend of Lord Forrestor to which he now serves as the House's Castellan.
Gared Tuttle, squire to Lord Forrestor and nephew to Duncan.[18]
Malcolm Branfeld, brother of Lady Forrestor and, with her, the only surviving members of House Branfeld.

The game will also include characters from the show, with voice work performed by the show's actors, including: Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), and Ramsay Snow (Iwan Rheon).

Trivia
After previous video games based on his works received overwhelmingly negative or mediocre critical responses, George R. R. Martin opined that he wanted "a Game of Thrones game to be made by a studio that knows how to create a thrilling and interesting story". Telltale Games has found critical success in several licensed adventure games, including their The Walking Dead episodic video game series. The Game of Thrones game arose from internal discussions within Telltale of what other popular franchises they wanted to write games around, with much support given for Game of Thrones, considering its emotionally equivalence to their The Walking Dead game. They approached HBO with the concept, and after a year of negotiations, were able to secure the license.

In December 2013, Telltale announced the Game of Thrones title at the 2013 Spike VGX video game awards program. George R. R. Martin stated that his personal assistant, Ty Corey Franck, is working with Telltale Games as a "story consultant".Telltale's CEO Don Conners explained that the game will not be a prequel to the television series, that the established world and timeline of Game of Thrones is allowing Telltale to explore fixed stories in more depth, to appeal to players.

It's nice to see a company that devotes its time to characters and story get a hold of this franchise, as the last Game of Thrones game we got was an absolute shitpiece.

Anyone else seem interested in this game?

I've seen many people accuse Return of the Jedi for being the worst Star Wars movie of the original trilogy.  I want to know why you think so.

To me, Empire (considered the greatest Star Wars movie in the history of ever) was long and boring as shit.  I didn't mind the Jedi training bits and the Han/Leia chemistry was pretty good, but the movie was just paced so slowly you could fall asleep.  After a huge, adrenaline-pumping opening sequence, the rest of the movie just seemed to drag as if it put all its energy into the beginning and end of the movie while half-assing the middle.

Return seemed to have that near-perfect mix of action, story, and character development.  I can understand people hating the Ewoks as a "Children's marketing ploy", but Lucas was pretty much all about the money at that point anyway.  I thought it had a great pacing to it, a solid opening and a nice closure at the end of the movie.  Palpatine was fucking wicked and the Vader/Luke fight was one of the best fights in all of Star Wars.  It didn't need flashy techno-dance kung-fu moves, it had a powerful story between father and son backing it up.

Discuss.

Serious / Walmart "bows down to Sharia law" by allowing halal meat.
« on: November 14, 2014, 10:33:42 PM »
Quote
As America veers towards Islamic Sharia law in order to cater to the demanding minority of Muslims, citizens are seeing not only an attempt to include and appease Muslims, but an infringement upon the rights of the majority.

With such a vocal group as that of Islam in the U.S., major corporations are making a shift toward including the brutal slaughter that is halal, and the newest addition to the list of Muhammad-approved businesses is the largest superstore yet.

The Miami Student reports that Wal-Mart has taken the leap into dangerous waters, approving the provision of halal meats.

With a petition, Oxford assistant professor Tareq Hasan Khan and the Muslim Student Association (MSA) of Miami University has pressured Wal-Mart into providing meats that have been slaughtered in a manner acceptable by halal standards, as per the Quran.

(Let it be noted that the petition garnered only 50 signatures while passed around the internet.)

According to the Quranic definition, halal livestock should be slaughtered by slitting the throat of the beast, bleeding the animal out by the throat, all while invoking the name of Allah in prayer. It’s often argued that halal slaughter is the most humane form of butchery, claiming that the animal endures as little pain and suffering as possible, but the documented videos reveal the ugly truth.

I enjoy Neil Blomkamp's films and admire the way he does his CGI.  It almost seems life-like.  Chappie seems a bit strange coming from him when you see that violent sci-fi gorefests like Elysium and District 9 were his previous movies, but this movie looks like it'll have a certain charm to it.

And Neil Blomkamp/Sharlto Copely are the new Tim Burton/Johnny Depp.  Except better.

Serious / "7th Heaven" Father molested children
« on: October 30, 2014, 02:49:41 PM »
I usually take what TMZ says with a heavy grain of salt, but fuck there's audio for this one.

http://www.tmz.com/2014/10/07/stephen-collins-child-molestation-7th-heaven-audio-tape-nypd-investigation/

Quote
Stephen Collins -- who played the pastor/dad on "7th Heaven" -- confessed to his estranged wife he was a child molester, and it's all on tape ... a tape obtained by TMZ. And the New York Police Dept. is now conducting an active criminal investigation involving sexual contact with multiple children.

Collins -- who is in the middle of a nasty, prolonged divorce with actress Faye Grant -- revealed to her in 2012 he had molested and/or exposed himself to several underage girls years before. Collins and Grant went to a therapist where she peppered him with questions about the incidents ... and he not only answered, he was specific.

Here's what Collins didn't know at the time. Grant taped the therapy session. We're told her lawyer advised her it was legal to secretly record the conversation because in California you're allowed to secretly record conversations to gather evidence the other person committed a violent felony ... and molesting a child under the age of 14 qualifies.

We have protected the names of the victims Collins mentions on tape. As you listen ... you will hear Collins refer to a "disclosure" and a "list." This refers to a confession Collins had already made to his wife ... which triggered the therapy session.

You hear Collins flatly confess to molesting an 11-year-old New York girl -- a relative of his first wife -- saying, "There was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my penis." He also acknowledges exposing himself to the girl "a couple of times" ... he says when she was 11, 12 and 13.

Grant asks, "When you exposed yourself ... did you have an erection?" He responds, "No, I mean, no. Partial, maybe I think."

Grant then inquires about other girls. Collins mentions an L.A. girl who lived in their neighborhood, but says he tried righting the wrong by apologizing to her years later.

And then they talk about yet another girl. It's incredible ... Collins has trouble keeping the girls straight, but then he gets clear and confirms the incident. We're told this girl was also from New York and was between 12 and 13 at the time.

This is just pretty surprising considering 7th Heaven was an uber religious family show and I believe Stephen Collins is a devout Christian.

In the video embedded below, an apparently intoxicated man attacks another passenger who he believes is gay. Within seconds, a number of bystanders leap into action to take the attacker down and hold him until police can handcuff him and lead him away.

The video is dated Thursday, October 23, and shows an unnamed angry man bellowing and threatening another passenger who is wearing a jacket and a pink shirt.

A tall man in a black cowboy hat approaches and asks the angry man what he’s upset about.

“Queers!” the man shouted. “That’s what I’m upset about. This faggot right here.”

After a tense exchange, the angry man kicks the man in the pink shirt, then slaps at him and grabs his hair.

A number of people rush to intervene as the man is tackled and put on the floor.

The man in the cowboy hat can be heard saying loudly, “No way! No way, you motherfucker. You ain’t doin’ that fucking shit, motherfucker.”

Indeed.

Watch the video, embedded below via passenger Andrew Kennedy:
