That's like asking if killing yourself is better than committing suicide.

Buying a Bungie game is equivalent to pre-ordering a Ubisoft game. You are committing crime.

Guys, that's nothing.
While working for them, the corporate admins would push updates sometimes several times a day and it would just be "Save your work, your pc is restarting in 30 minutes xD " and when the report tracker you have doesn't have a 'save as draft' option and it cannot be edited after being submitted, the team pulled some fast typing. 2212

The Flood / Re: I feel bad for the UK users here« on: February 02, 2018, 08:18:41 AM »Yeah, we need to do this sort of training every year. So every Q1 starts off with hours of Ethics and Privacy training. It's good to see companies like IBM take the GDPR this seriously. It should be a great improvement compared to the old Directive and its national implementations. If IBM doesn't comply with these rules and seriously neglects them, they can face fines up to 4% of their global revenue - or almost $3.2 billion dollars.ah yeah man. You have to train for a few hours to get BD certified - meaning you can deal with BD clients.Yeah, I figured as much. There's several categories of personal data that are considered sensitive or special under EU privacy law. These include the likes of medical data but also information on sexuality, race, ethnicity and the likes. Processing them can only take place under stricter conditions, which is why there's more requirements regarding specific written consent and whatnot.Blue Diamond customers are clients from the medical field. So basically anything with med. records.Well, prior to this rule it was only delete files that have something like IP addresses or usernames. Now its all and anything. But whatever, there is auto-archiving regardless. That's interesting. Any controller has long been under the obligation to minimize their use of personal data and delete it as soon as it's no longer necessary. The GDPR slightly broadens the definition of personal data but it's mainly just codifying what was already commonly recognized through court cases and whatnot. What other files do you delete then? And auto-archiving of personal data still counts as processing so that doesn't exactly sound like it's allowed. But more On topic here: Why didn't the UK government make people more aware of built-in parental controls? Isn't this regulation a mallet + egg sort of approach? 2215

The Flood / Re: I feel bad for the UK users here« on: February 01, 2018, 10:30:53 AM »Well, prior to this rule it was only delete files that have something like IP addresses or usernames. We now need to delete all customer data after a certain time and request access to specific files with a business justification."Now" has been required for 20 years, just so you know (although it might not have been implemented strictly at the lower levels). Can you elaborate on the second part? Now its all and anything. But whatever, there is auto-archiving regardless. Blue Diamond customers are the most pain. You need to do some much just to get a single file. Some people on the team, flat out refuse to work with BD customers because of this. Even though I wrote up a straight-forward doc on how to get to the files. 2220
The Flood / Re: I feel bad for the UK users here« on: February 01, 2018, 10:12:19 AM »It was mentioned a while ago and after a massive public uproar it was never heard again. Its ridiculous. You pay for a service and hardware - just for some charity case to slap a license fee on it?You guys need to fucking revolt again.Lucky wankers. They are also trying to introduce a communications license. Basically if you have any device that uses the internet, you need to pay a license for it too. Here you only need to pay if you watch/record live television.Oh, is that how it works? Here in Ireland you just have to pay it if you have a TV. Even if its not working. I have two TVs and only ever used them as gaming monitors. What do you expect from a country that issues licenses to own a TV?yeah but that implies that you'd want to watch live TV or anything on the BBC OTT of privacy: here at IBM, we got a huge amount of policies on handling customer data even though we have encrypted hard-drives and are under layers of firewall. We now need to delete all customer data after a certain time and request access to specific files with a business justification. Downloading files to your own machine is also difficult. Slows things down, but its all private AF. On topic of pornography, any form of ID should have been sufficient. Giving your passport data to anyone is a little dodgy. Protecting kids is mostly up to parents anyway. Set up browser firewalls that block access to sites tagged as 'adult'. Your console has parental controls and so does your PC. This new rule is re-inventing the wheel. |
