Well for one, they're not physically addictive. Cocaine, crack, heroin, and other such drugs provide resources that your body considers as natural and enhancing, and then goes into a deficit if you stop taking them. While hallucinogens and marijuana can be mentally addictive (as in you can get addicted to the feeling of them or rely on them too much, as people can get addicted to gaming and such), they are not physically addictive in any way and breed no dependability so long as they are used responsibly.
Secondly, they effect your body in different ways. Once again, hallucinogens give a primarily mental effect rather than a physical one - they change the way in which you think and perceive the world but do not change the chemical balance of your body. Amphetamines and opiates create physical changes in your body, thus making them much more dangerous for use.
I'm sure it's possible to permanently damage yourself with the kinds of things I've used, but once again that's where using them responsibly comes into play. I'm not an idiot that's going to drop ten tabs of acid and then go to a rave with no sober people who know me.
