Well obviously they are separated, but the stuff from the EU and the original and prequel trilogy are canon.
No. No it is not. You know why? Because if Disney is going to pick up with the EU as plot, you are expecting people are going to go to the film understanding what the hell has happened in the 30 years since, including Chewbacca's death, the Han/Leia's kid storyline, all that fun shit. Guess what? That doesn't work, because most movie goers are not going to have read dozens of books to fill them in, nor will they want to. Disney CANNOT pick up with the current story plots logistically, because if they did, this entire movie would be exposition to try and fill people in. If they kept the EU as canon, and tried to tell their own story, it would contradict and there would be an uproar larger than Bungie with FOR vs. Halo: Reach. So, whether or not YOU want to accept it Noelle, that's the truth. Disney owns Star Wars, it is now a property of theirs, and any stories for the future will be decided by them. If you want to continue your denial and simply posting "It's canon, it's canon, fuck Disney!", be our guest. But, you are factually wrong, and will continue to be wrong.

Okay, more question/critique time. Do the storm troopers look anorexic in Rebels like the Clone Troopers did in TCW? That always bothered the shit out of me, especially because I've got one action figure from TCW series, and all the rest are from Ep II-III.

So if the EU is canon does that mean things like Lego Star Wars, Kinect Star Wars and even fan fictions are canon as well? After all the EU would be on the same level as fan fictions now.
Nope, those things are not part of the EU. LEGO Star Wars is exactly that, LEGO, Kinect Star Wars is a shitty game, and other games like TFU are non-canon. Fan-fictions are obviously not canon.
Yeah, TFU was overruled by the Onderon Arc in TCW and Star Wars Rebels.
TCW and Rebels do not matter.

Know why? Because Disney wants to create films, and they can't create films when dealing with the clusterfuck that is an annoying bloated and confusing Expanded Universe, and if they kept the EU as canon, fans would be screaming about they are not respecting it.
