It isn't unusual for characters to look different to varying degrees over the years. Just look at Desmond in Assassin's Creed.
I just meant scars, shrapnel, etc. It's obvious none of the scars carried over cuz Kojima never thought he'd make another MG after that, or get THAT far.
But if asked for an explanation, it'd be some bullshit thing like nanomachines (all of MGS4), or new body or whatever.
Shrapnel removal isn't an issue, for obvious reasons. Scars can be explained away by plastic surgery or nanomachines (son).
