The Flood / Good news! (PSA)
« on: December 05, 2014, 07:01:34 PM »
Hello guys,

So now that I hit my goal of 3,000 posts, my talk of cars and my constant flow of car threads will mostly go away. For the most part, I talked so much about cars and all that simply because it is something I can genuinely talk about a lot, and it would help me reach there as fast as I could. Now that I'm there, I can slow down. I know it annoyed a lot of you, sorry, and thanks for baring with it. In fact, I'm sure that kind of talk led many of you to just be annoyed by me in general. Be happy that it's going to go away, for you :).

I know I talk about myself, and my life quite a lot. And I can see how it is overbearing and...I can't think of the word, like I come across as if I think highly of myself or that I'm "the shit". Which is ironic, but any way, now I can just simmer down and act like the rest of you. No, I'm not curtailing who I am for you guys, and to better your opinion of me, but so you guys can get to know me outside of me being BC the car guy. I know I get berated for caring so much about the communities opinion of me, and yea I really do, because I don't want to be seen as an asshole or anything that isn't genuinely how I am. I act the same on here as I do out in the real world.

For those of you that want to talk, about anything really be it questions, concerns, or just wanting to get to know me just shoot me a pm. I'm a pretty open person on a lot of things, and who knows, maybe we can talk our ways into some truly interesting conversation.

I hope all of you have a delightful evening, and a fantastic weekend.

And if you guessed it would be about cars, well.

It is. But I don't have much to talk about, as of yet.

It's been a good year for cars man. A really good year.

Umm, I did here MSO is making 20 full carbon P1's, and they sold out immediately :(. 8 are coming to NA. I don't know if the 20 are independent of the original P1 production number.

918 came out. Fantastic car. All I can say as of now.

La Ferrari came out, and, well, it's terrible.

LP610 Huracan came out and it's exceptional.

The C7 ZO6 came out, and I know a lot of you love the new stingray.

A new Aston just got announced, don't remember the name, but it looks way too futuristic.

That's all I got.

So, ask me car related questions I guess.

As a community, I'm sure many of us are worried about Sandtrap. And for some of us his issue hits home. I guarantee every one of you knows someone who has suffered from some form of cancer. I lost my grandmother, a good friend, and a grandfather because of it. And I know two young kids, age 9 and 11, who have brain cancer, and are undergoing treatment.

It's a terrible disease, and it effects everyone, even if you don't have it. I understand how it feels, and how hard it is on both sides of the problem.

I wanted to take moment and remember everyone that has suffered from it. And to keep Sandtrap, and everyone you personally know, in our thoughts and prayers.

All we can do is hope everything turns out fine for him, and everyone effected by it.

We are a community, even if you guys don't really see it. And times like this we have to come together and hope one of us pulls through.

Thank you.

The Flood / Remember, some cars need to be respected...

But if your an idiot, this happens.

A 24-year old guy in Austin, Texas, crashes his P1, after owning it for only one day.

Luckily he survived. He slammed into the guard rail at, supposedly, over 120mph.

I hope McLaren did what they did with the F1 and produce an extra to compensate.

Seriously though, this can happen in any car, please drive safely everyone.

The Flood / Lol at Ferrari
« on: December 04, 2014, 08:39:57 PM »
So, Ferrari just came out with the FXX K, which is their new FXX collection addition. And let me continue to explain why Ferrari does stupid things.

As with every FXX car, you buy it, but you don't own it. You pay upwards of $8M to get the right to "borrow" the car, you can't take it home, it's not yours. You can only drive it, on Ferrari approved tracks, when Ferrari says you can.

But that's not why I'm here, I'm here about this. The regular La Ferrari

"BC this is Ferrari though!"

Shh.

I just saw a La Ferrari go up for sale. At, wait for it, $4M dollars.

You could buy every hyper car, and have money to blow for that amount of money. That's a Huayra, a 918, and a P1, for less then one car.

"But BC, Lamborghini did the same thing with the Veneno!"

No. Lamborghini sold it for over $4M yes, but, they did that because it is NOT a production car. The La Ferrari, is, or atleast has 70x the amount of produced vehicles then the Veneno line up.

Also. The La Ferrari's batteries, if you got it at launch, will start dying I'm February. Ferrari is already putting dumpsters in Modena, Italy so that you can dispose of that.

That's embarrassingly terrible. This is why Ferrari doesn't know what they are doing, and they poorly designed the La Ferrari, and the FXX K.

Are they pretty? Sure. Are they worth it? Lolno.

Ferrari fanboys come at me.

So I know you can make a hotspot using your phone. But

At my school the wifi only allows the devices they gave us to connect. Is there a way I can make a wifi hotspot so I can connect my phone. I'm trying to download an album and reception here is terrible. At this rate my download will be done in 41 minutes lol.

So, is it possible. If so how

Or atleast me.

This is something I've noticed. Out of the 10 people I talked to before my gf, 7 of them were born in France, and lived there for atleast 10 years.

Is this just a strange coincidence, or do French girls have a thing for Americans?

When I was a Sophmore I went on a retreat that my high school has. Branded a religious retreat, it isn't focused on religion at all, atleast for the most part. It's a three day retreat on a camp ground, 120 kids, 40 leaders (Juniors), and a few teachers.

Second day, one of the leaders gave his talk, which is basically the person telling you about something they have went through and how they got through it. This talk brought me the closest to crying I have been for a very, very long time.

The story goes like this, from what I can remember.

His father was an incredibly healthy, and strong willed person. His life was great, and he was just so happy with his family as a whole. He had two younger brothers and a very loving mother. Life was just good and perfect.

Then, his father was diagnosed with Lou Gherig's disease. This disease eats away and causes muscles to atrophy. Over time, you are essentially watching who ever has it slowly, and painfully, fade away.

During this, his father kept going to work until he simply could not. He was then bed ridden. And his job was to help his father use the bathroom, and bring him food/drinks and overall take care of basic needs. His Mother would take over for the most part. But things got incredibly demanding, his father continued to deteriorate, and when you see someone become a weak, and destroyed shadow of who they once were, it eats at you. It breaks down your spirit, your soul, your entire being. And that's what happened to him.

Because he had to help his father more and more he began to become frustrated. His grades plummeted, his friend left him because he could not hang out. And what he had left was a family broken and devoid of spirit and hope. Holding on to a life precious to them as long as they could.

He began to hate his father. He began to hate him because he needed so much, because he took away so much from his life. That he lost everything because he was dying. He stopped caring. About everything, family, his life, everything. He was the man of the house, taking care of his two younger brothers. He stopped helping, and blew everyone off.

He started doing drugs. Starting with weed to help him forget. Then cocaine, then Oxy/Cough syrup. He began to do as many things he could so he could get away. So he could experience something other then hatred and depression. He didn't value his life anymore. He had given up. On everyone and everything.

He looked to God to help him. And things never got better. He tried, and tried, and begged. But nothing. So he gave up, and lost faith. He put everything down.

He was poised to take his own life.

And then someone entered his life, a person who would remain to be his bestfriend forever. Someone who helped him comeback. Helped him realize things were good. To love his father in the last few moments he had. He had hope. But then something turned the tables once again.

He came home one day to his mother crying. To paramedics in his home, and his fathers room. His father had died. Slipped away, before he could spend another moment with his father. To make things right.

Gone. His love, and his heart broken. Devoured, shattered to dust. He was broken.

What happened next, is something amazing. My entire school jumped to the aid of him and his family. He joined a group in school, a group I now participate in because of him. And through that, he absolved for his sins. He gave back to the world what he owed his father. To help those, so they don't fall into that dark hole. Something I live out now, for the same reason.

The song he played after is what wrecked me. I know some of you dislike this song, but listen to the words and it's application to his story, and you get it.

YouTube

His story touched me, and nearly brought me to tears. I have never cried, for anything, even family deaths. I was devoid of those emotions because I was hated at the time. And I had nothing, my family had told me I was a failure, and that I was going to be homeless. My dad told me he was dissapointed to have me as his soon. And down the path I fell.

Now I'm here. Now everything is good, and perfect. My dad apologized a few months later, on his own accord.

This is not debate on whether God is real or not. It has nothing to do with it. It's about being thankful for what you have, and for the people you love. For the families and friends you still have. And that there is hope no matter how dark and desolate your situation may be. The world has a way of coming around. And it will.

TL;DR - You should really read this.

The Flood / Bloody hell it's been a long week.
« on: November 29, 2014, 10:14:59 PM »
Got in a major car wreck on Tuesday, was in the hospital till mid day Thursday. Had an absolutely mental headache that kept me practically out of commission. Been in bed all day, can't really do much.

Bad week I guess.

The car wreck wasn't my own doing or the person driving me. We got nearly T-boned by a drunk driver, clipped the back, spun us out of control and nailed guard rail in the back of the car. Which hurt, quite a lot.

News / Motor Mondays: McLaren P1
« on: November 24, 2014, 03:35:06 PM »

Ladies and Gentleman, today I will be discussing the most advanced car in the world, the McLaren P1. In every aspect it leads the charge. Aesthetically beautiful, powerful, and advanced. Technologies used in this car rival those of Formula One cars. The true and full fledged successor to the legendary McLaren F1.

So where do we begin?

First off, this car is light. Very light. It's comprised of one "Monocage" which comprises the main components of the chassis, and the cockpit. All of that weighs 198lbs. All Carbonfiber, in fact, practically ever piece of the car is Carbonfiber. The whole car weights 3,075lbs. It's weight is also distributed perfectly.

It's also incredibly well designed. Every angle, every slip streamed contour of the car is well researched, well tested, and there for a reason. It's sleek and gorgeous designed is methodical. Everything to make it cut through air like a knife, and get every single G of grip and can get at high speeds. It sticks to the road like glue. This gives it unparalleled handling.

The interior doesn't lack anything a basic car has. 3 cup holders, A/C, GPS, a radio, electric windows. All the basic commodities that cars of this nature overlook. It retains a very barebones look. Some pieces of leather on the dash. But really all their is, is the wheel and the center console. It's a drivers car, a true drivers car. It doesn't need fancy trinkets here and there. It has that character, that sense of business and well toned prowess. It's comfortable too, bucket seats with alcantara.

Moving on too the steering wheel. Very quickly you can see the basic levers and switches for the lights, windshield wipers, turning signals, etc. But, there are two other buttons on the face of the steering wheel.

IPAS, Instant Power Assist System, which allows the electric motor to provide a boost. It activates automatically on track use, and it can be activated manually with the click of the button.

DRS, Drag Reduction System, which controls the Active Aerodynamic Spoiler. Clicking it moves the wing to 0 degrees. The wing changes angles to aid with aerodynamics, as well as lifting up to aid braking.

Moving onto performance.

The P1 has a twin turbo V8 that puts out 727hp, as well as an electronic motor which puts out 176hp, for a total of 903hp. This allows the P1 to reach high speeds very quickly, and takes advantage of the lightweight chassis. The electric motor takes over when the turbos aren't performing optimally, which in turn, removes all turbo lag. It's responsive, and it's quick. Very quick. Blindingly quick.

0-62mph in 2.8 seconds
0-124mph in 6.8 seconds
0-152mph in 9.8 seconds and a 1/4 Mile
0-186mph in 16.5 seconds
Max Speed (limited electronically): 217mph

The P1 has a 7-speed Dual Clutch transmission. No stick, just paddle shifters. The P1 can be set in a full electric mode, which has a range of 6.2 Miles. Or you can use both the engine and the electric motor in conjunction. Rear Wheel Drive, and Mid Engine.

With all that speed, you need some serious breaking power. The P1 uses a new kind of carbon brakes. McLaren used a material that had only been used in space programs. Now it's used to bring the car down to a complete haunt, as well as the active aero wing. How quickly?

62-0mph in 2.9 seconds
124-0mph in 4.5 seconds
186-0mph in 6.2 seconds

These brakes don't fade. And they are very responsive. This kind of stopping power allows for high speed turns, as well as making the car safer. It also comes with Pirelli's top wheels, P-Zero's (no not your average P-Zero's)

Overall, the P1 is the best car on the market. Hands down. No questions asked. It is the ultimate drivers car. A car any car enthusiast dreams of owning. And man, is it amazing. I'm blessed to own it, and I'd never sell it no matter the price.

Oh yea, the price.

$1,600,000 (as of now)

Expect that price to continue to go up, and up, and up. A few months ago it was $1.2M.

Next week I will be discussing a British classic, the Aston Martin DB7

Making people smile, laugh, and happy.

That never gets old. And it's something everyone can give another person. A universal feeling of gratitude. It doesn't matter who you are, something can make you laugh, and smile. And I think that's awesome.

People are great, the world is great.

Make someone smile today, spread some happiness, it's Monday, make it less annoying this time around.

So I'm driving to school, as I'm finally allowed to park there again.

On may way there I pass by a film crew. I guess they are filming a movie or tv show on a road going to my Highschool. Anyway, so people were slowing down to see what was going on. I didn't really care but I obviously had to go slow because of the people looking in front of me.

Unfortunately the person beind me was to busy doing their make up, and went straight into the back of my car. At around 30mph. See, if this was a normal situation, a damaged trunk doesn't cost much. But my engine is in the back, technically. So that got pretty messed up. That dumb bitch is going to have a very large bill on her, and her insurance is going to sky rocket.

If it was a small incident, I wouldn't really be mad. But it was pretty bad, and the reason why is so idiotic. Even the cop told the lady that it was idiotic.

So that's my morning...

Atleast were watching the Life of Pi
