my roommate's probably a better cook than you
Probably.

I can cook just about anything (made a couple pounds of corned beef last week) but its not going to come out fantastic every time.

Are you sure the roommate isn't you?
I'm the only person who does dishes or vacuums, or cleans anything for that matter. I also cook all the meals, and pay for 100% of the internet, along with my portions of rent, groceries, and utilities.

I'm a great roommate.

The Flood / Re: Cheat, a question about the ads
« on: August 27, 2016, 11:22:49 AM »
Of course you don't, because you don't know anything about trans people.
i know more about transfolk than you do

what i'm saying, because--again--you're too much of a wash-out to fucking understand it, even if i increase the font size to 36 to assist your stupid ass--it's very simple

advertisements are not that specific--charlie is not transgender, and there could be any number of explanations for this

this is the third time i'm explaining this, and i won't do it again, so if you're still confused, you're out of luck--try laying off the dope
I just told you exactly what data an ad would mine to return results like that, and all you've said is, "Nope, doesn't work that way."

And you're seriously kidding yourself if you think you're more engaged with the LGBT community than me.

Two are doing their very best to take care of the household, and shell out all their money every check to buy groceries, or pay bills.

One buys all of the herb that comes into the house, and everyone else just gives him money. He'll sometimes pinch off some out of other people's shares, and I don't think the prices he gives us are accurate figures.

The last one is the worst.

He constantly acts like he's broke to get other people in the house to buy his gas, and eats out all the time in secret, all the while the rest of us are trying to pool our money to buy groceries for the house, that he ends up eating, even though he never contributes for them. He bums cigarettes off of everyone else, even though he has his own, and he always pretends he doesn't have any, so nobody ever questions it. Once we gave him the rent money and he came home with a PS4.

Wat do?

you're all so fucking stupid
Yeah, I don't think of you have a purchase history of stuff like testosterone and androgens that you get ads for plus sized female clothing.

Maybe a Gold's Gym ad.

But of course, Verbatim thinks trans people google things like "I'm LGBTWTFBBQ and I need validation."
maybe this is the text equivalent to one of your aimless drug-induced rambles, because you're a lifeless strung-out wastoid like that, but i haven't the faintest clue what you're trying to say right now
Of course you don't, because you don't know anything about trans people.

Let me simplify it for you.
MtF and FtM would return very different search and online purchase histories, and therefore you would not get ads targeted towards cross dressing if you were FtM, you would be more likely to get a Viagra, or Gym ad.

There is no universal flag that just marks someone as trans.

this line of thought totally makes sense if he was implying FtM
"ALL the trannies"

do you really think advertisements are that specific
Women's clothing sized for men is definitely not targeting FtMs

The Flood / Re: Books that you never get tired of reading?
« on: August 26, 2016, 04:35:32 PM »
I'm actually reading that at the moment, it's pretty damn good.

It's my favorite book. Is it your first time reading it?
Yep, got it at christmas I think but I've been busy with the dune series up until now. Finished all of the original dune books about two weeks ago I think.

It's very well written, kinda surprised me how easily I fell into it.

The dune series could be a little heavy at times, it takes a lot for me to put down a book because I'm too tired to actually read/understand it and they managed it a few times. Good books though, thoroughly enjoyed the God-Emperor of Dune and seeing how the author mixed his ecologist background with the philosophical ones to make 'the long view' a central theme to the whole series.

I'm about halfway through Ender's Game but I have seen the film so I think that's probably going to mess with reading it for the first time but either way it's a great look at smart-bastard children and how they deal with the world.
It's actually a prequel to Speaker for the Dead, so Orson Scott Card gets a lot of credit for making Ender incredibly clever, without giving him any ability to surmise the future.

This allows him to be surprised by plot twists, but also very good at weeding out deceit, which turns out to be his greatest failure.

It's a great dichotomy that defines an extremely classic tragedy. His greatest strength is his insight, and his greatest downfall is his failure to use it.

Ender's Game, Halo: The Fall of Reach. Might make the list larger later.

I've read Nylund's Fall of Reach maybe a dozen times.

It's a masterwork.

« on: August 26, 2016, 01:45:15 PM »
I'm more annoying irl, and my speech is filled with malapropisms and filler words. I'm generally more reserved on here too tbh.
IRL I like to go on long rants about science and politics, and minute details become central points for oral essays unfurled on the fly.

I hold gold medals in oration, and my friends witness that constantly, to their chagrin.
So I definitely understand this.
