The shit we started pondering in our youth will be the same deep enigmas that accompany us for the rest of our lives, no matter how much we might like to think that something deeper and more important will come along later. The Flood / Just finished Season 3 of Bojack Horseman« on: August 29, 2016, 08:19:15 AM »
Best season yet.
Didn't like the underwater episode, but other than that it was a wild, emotional ride. The last episode was practically a masterwork, but the themes explored over the rest of the season were immaculately communicated in what is frankly one of the most meaningful projects I have seen in a long time. Sensitive Content Sarah Lynn's death was heart wrenching, and I honestly thought the final episode couldn't go any deeper into the fragile psyche and destructive nature of a washed up millionaire celebrity than that moment, but when its alluded to that he has a daughter he doesn't know about, and Todd forgoes his fortune, all while Mr Peanutbutter is approached about running for governor, I feel like we're being primed for a season that will get further down into the root of Bojack's poisonous personality, maybe even deep enough for him to finally find closure. That being said I cannot see the show getting a fifth season, I really believe Season 4 would be a good place to end it, but they may surprise and even further impress us. 4566
The Flood / Re: Cocks, Not Glocks« on: August 29, 2016, 06:10:01 AM »My point was protesting the law there was stupid because the campus was barely affected by it because most areas are considered city property, since the campus isn't really well defined like neighboring Texas State's campus is.Ah okay,I just knew you're a commie bastard who needed to be put into his place.Charlie I don't know if you've ever been to UT's campus but it doesn't have a start or stop point, its kind of integrated into downtown.I could give a shit about what they're protesting. It's the how that's cracking me up. 4567

Of course it was.
However, that doesn't mean central banking is a mistake, the Federal Reserve is just a really shitty one. 4570

Charlie I don't know if you've ever been to UT's campus but it doesn't have a start or stop point, its kind of integrated into downtown.
Under Texas laws I could already carry an assault rifle around their campus, as long as I didn't enter any buildings. So UT is kind of the dumbest campus to do this on. 4571
Gaming / Re: "A bad first installment should get a pass, because it's the first installment."« on: August 28, 2016, 05:45:56 PM »Functionality is only half of a game. Not to mention that it isn't even the half that sells.I'm beating a dead horse here, but whether or not you, personally, appreciate something does not change whether or not it is important. Sorry, but games are not one sided. Like any art form they have many different facets, and none of them can be weak. Crystal is lacking in features compared to newer releases, and is graphically uncaptivating. That doesn't change the fact that its my favorite Pokemon game, but the reality is that if it released tomorrow it would be nothing more than a joke. 4572

Games have to be beautiful as well as functional, I've never bought into the stupid indie 8-bit fad, its almost never charming. There is absolutely no excuse for delivering a lazy product when you can bring so much more to the table, Crystal would be a high school project today, albeit an A+ project. 4573

Gaming / Re: "A bad first installment should get a pass, because it's the first installment."« on: August 28, 2016, 05:10:53 PM »That doesn't mean you should feel obligated to enjoy them. Games do age, contrary to what some believe. Some are timeless, others are not, others are improved through slight modernization (System Shock with mouse look).I think you're confusing System Shock's contribution to modern gaming with Marathon's. System Shock's look system was good for the time, but less than three months later, Marathon set the precedent the industry is still held to today. System Shock's major contribution is cited to be its innovative 3D rendering engine, which set the standard polygonal 3D environment games would be shaped by for the next decade. Four years later, Half Life capitalized on these concepts and produced the first truly modern experience, and in my opinion one of the only games that still has as much playability as it did at launch in this pantheon of Legendary games that includes System Shock, Marathon, Arena, Fallout, Half Life, and other games that practically created their genres all over again. Really this is a great topic, because a lot of these games deserve to be remade using lessons learned from other notewrothy games on the list. 4576
