Okay, well imagine taking all the money you were going to spend on that car, and deciding not to be homeless instead.
And all the money you spend on your 90s knick knacks? That goes to not being hungry.
Simple stuff.
what? i already do that. i didn't graduate high school so my folks make me pay rent or they'll kick me out again (and considering my job for the next year at least is stationed in this city it just makes good sense). and because i'm a vegan i'm forced to buy my own food, too.
also,
80s knick knacks*
I spend about 10k-15k a year just on the essentials. I only make about $17,000 In Syrup scented scratch n sniff stickers that comes out to: 13k-19k out of 22k You can probably expect to spend 1/5 of what I spend at the grocery store though, since I usually feed five people, or more since we have company almost daily. In all, I can see where you'd have money to waste on superficial things, but please don't pretend anyone else does.

Absolutely not.
I can't just shove $15,000 in the hole to buy an old Bricklin, or a Galaxie 500. I'm barely just doing my best to get by, and I'm already $5,000 in debt.
Not to mention, FORGET trying to insure something like that. I know what it costs, and I want no part of it.
well i'm sorry to hear that
but fyi i'm still on my learner's permit for a few months and my insurance on my current car isn't nearly that bad (though i put it away for the winter and such so maybe that has something to do with it) and its around the same level of price and worth as the bricklin.
Enlighten me, do you live alone?

I've been reading The Two Towers since eighth grade.

delish i specifically used that under the auspices that it would trigger somebody
I was saying because you like plain food, not because you said delish.
Jack Black says delish, and he's easily the coolest person on the planet.
He says it ironically.

•Rey is the daughter of Obi Wan and Duchess Satine of Mandalore's secret lovechild, making her Kenobi's granddaughter.
So she's both his daughter and granddaughter? Gross
No, read it like this: Obi Wan + Duchess = Lovechild Lovechild + Unknown = Rey

•Rey is the daughter of Obi Wan and Duchess Satine of Mandalore's secret lovechild, making her Kenobi's granddaughter. •Snoke is a disfigured Biggs Darklighter, found and trained in secret by Vader, and holding a grudge against Luke for not only leaving him for dead at the Battle of the Death Star, but later stealing his master's attention. •Ben Solo waits in line to have his name change to Kylo Ren made legal, but they mess up his paperwork and his name is now 'Kylo Ben' •Poe and Finn have a three way with a green chick, but spend most of the time banging each other •FN-2199 (TR-8R) and Phasma are confronted by Finn in a shot for shot remake of the opening of TDKR Spoiler Tell me about FN-2187, why did he betray the First Order? What cool things do you think won't happen in the next Star Wars?

The American philosophy on education is that you should know absolutely everything you're taught. Not entirely sure how that's any different from over here or anywhere else, really. If it's taught to you, you're supposed to know it. Seems like a pretty normal thing.
Then your minimum scores to pass a class are laughable.
How so? Rather than making 70% your passing mark, you set it at 50. A 50% mark means you know all of the material enough to pass. Anything higher shows that you're able to make additional connections or have a deeper understanding of the material than what is expected to merely succeed. What would be an 85 there would translate in maybe a 65 here. It's just a different scale which allows more room to accurately depict how well a student did. While a 50 might be a pass, it won't mean much on a resume.
I don't know what kind of demented world you Europoors live in, but you can't just decide to move a percentage point. 100% means you know everything in the course 100% of everything there is to know on the subjects covered in the class. 70% means you've retained a little over two thirds of that, which is passable, but not gonna win you any medals. Of course, you can finish a course with a higher average than 100, though it is rare. I don't see where you get the idea that 50% of anything is most of it.

85 is not good?
It's good, but it doesn't look half as sparkly on a transcript as 90 or 95.
Ah, I see. Grades like a 90 are practically impossible to achieve over here, so that had me confused.
The American philosophy on education is that you should know absolutely everything you're taught. To compensate for this a lot of information deemed nonessential is cut out. The lowest passing score is generally 70%, but those kind of scores will get you laughed at in grad school applications.

There are no "higher levels of reality". There's just reality. Well, according to the laws of physics, Door is technically correct... BUT Interfacing with higher levels of reality you fucking coward However an expansion in man's ability to perceive dimensions has nothing to do with philosophical enlightenment. Simply understanding and coming to terms with higher levels of reality will make us no more capable to interface with them than we are now. We would almost certainly feel hopeless and powerless before higher dimensions, and that is reason enough to avoid them; we would gain nothing and waste centuries of research.

Why would an individual want to be enlightened? I'm almost 100% certain that any truths that could be revealed to us are disturbing and that is why we are blind to them in the first place. Perhaps we have blocked them out over the course of our evolution in order to allocate more resources to science and less to being mortified by the shrill nature of the world? Name a single reason an individual would seek a state of enlightenment.
