I didn't even hear about this film, but Gary Oldman is in it and apparently he and Shia both gave excellent performances, despite very poor critical and box office reception.

We've never lost a member before this.

It would be great if you could give Sandtrap's account a new title.
I dunno, like a memorial, or a tombstone.

You went out with a joke about your own death. That's... pretty classic Sandtrap self depreciating dark humor right there. Well played, Sandy.
Oh my god, I didn't realise this was his last post.

The Nation's already in so much jeopardy, that there reelecting the new president 2 years early.

I love America.
No, the new congress formed of opposers to the Constitution of Trump, which he will ratify later this year, is going to elect a President of Congress, two revolutions ago, John Hancock was president of such a Congress. In the next revolutionary Congress, Alexander Stephens was its President.

I will carry on this tradition.

You seem to have dealt with a great deal of stress and challenges in your life, and I hope that things go well for you from this point on. I've greatly enjoyed talking with you on Discord.
I feel like my adversities have been a drop in the bucket compared to what is coming in the future, and it seems unfair to gripe about them when other people, people I know, have been through so much more.

I hope you get what you want out of life.
Your talent is growing everyday, I see that. And I can only assume all things you do grow with such intricate bliss. But what already have, whether you know it or not, is vision. The most important thing anybody can have is a vision.

But my vision is shifting, and I play it off like it was absolute. A beautiful lie, to make things seem like I never made compromise, and to make it seem like everything was just, well...

Part of some smooth plan.

Then, show her our big guy, and crash your plane...

When Trump ratifies the new contitution, the opposition parties will come together to form a new government.

I want to be president of this congress, and when the new government takes over I want to be at its helm.

I'm thinking a new title is in order, to disassociate this government from the old one, and from Trump.

When I lead this nation, what should I call myself?

For what it's worth, we've had our difference but you're a pretty solid guy. I hope college works out for you and that you can leave all the miserable crap behind.
I wasn't speaking to offend you, it was just a crack about lawyers in general.

I disagree with many of your opinions, but I have a lot of respect for you.
I do remember one time I spent a long time joking about europoor education, but I was just trying to get a rise.

Does anybody remember the thread Sandtrap made offering to send us PMs saying what he thought of us?

The things he said, I understand, were meant for only one person: you.
But in light of his passing, and his last message for us, I'd like to see what he saw in each of us.

This place was special to him, and maybe we can piece together the reasons why.

This is what he had to say to me.
Mr. Sol.
Where to start with you? Well, for starters, you're a funny person to me. Every time I see your name it brings back something in the back of my head that I know I should remember, but I don't. That means, at some point in time, before this head of mine took some hits, I knew you in some capacity. Or at the very least, you were somebody on my thoughts.

But, that's all gone now and you're largely a stranger to me. But, I still pick up stuff from time to time. I don't know how long you've been living in that car of yours. But let me say that if you've been doing it for a while, it's impressive.

You don't break down on the forums like some folks do. Some folks on the internet use it for escape. Or to whine in too much excess. Or maybe they become caustic, ugly people. But by all appearances for the longest time I always thought you lived the average life, because you post like an average person, as if your day is average and okay.

It's more than I can say for myself. I don't know how you ended up in your position. But it likely wasn't through something good or happy, was it? For me, I doubt it's something I could do. Let alone keep up the appearance of being okay.

And, not only that, but it seems like it's more of your choice to stay like things are now. Who am I to say? I don't know you, after all. But it can't be easy. And, if I do remember things, a few anarchy posts back, you've got other troubles too.

It's something I've gotta commend you on. Early adult years are a bitch for everybody. But to deal with what you're dealing right now is something that would probably leave a fair number of people walking down really bad roads. But you've got this kind of air to you that you can handle it.

Like it's all according to some smooth plan of yours. And I hope that's the case. I hope stuff falls into place for you and you find out where you're going in life. Because at the same time you seem like somebody who's drifting. You haven't found your place in life yet.

No easy task for some people. And it can seem so very hopeless. I hope things work out for you and you figure out what comes next in yours. And that maybe you get better luck and kinder people that'll take you down happier roads. Folks like you don't deserve the trouble they get.

This is awful, I wonder what the individuals claiming he was lying are feeling now?
Sandtrap was a very real person, he could never have been lying to us.

He was keen, sharp as a tack, and the most honest person I have ever had the privilege of knowing.

His life was troubled, even before the cancer, but he had a kind of grace. A melancholy kindness that touched everyone he ever shared himself with.

I want there to be no disrespect to him of any kind in this thread. He was, without a doubt, a treasure that we took for granted too often, and as with all things in his life, he deserved better.

If Mike Pence is ousted for treason, and Paul Ryan alienates Trump enough,  then he could switch parties while in office, and would appoint Bernie as VP, and when Trump is impeached, Bernie will be president.

Somebody call Kevin Spacey I think we've got a shot here.

Walt Disney adapted classic fairy tales and made them the way he wanted, I don't see why I shouldn't do the same with games.
because you're not, in any way whatsoever

you're not walt disney
Quote
We just want things to be, in our perception, perfect.
That's all there is in life.
perfection by your own perception is not perfection
Walt Disney was just a guy, with an idea of how he wanted things to be.

Everybody else is the same, and anybody who wants to exalt or glorify another person needs to get over it.
Glorify yourself, and make things perfect the way you see perfect.

It's subjective.

i personally don't care because it's not like their personal modifications will affect my copy
i will never understand this mentality
People like things to be tailored to them.

Modding exists for the same reason we wear clothes that fit.
that doesn't seem healthy to me
Neither does eating the diet we evolved to eat, so I can see why you wouldn't understand wearing fitting clothes.
No, I just don't understand why everything must be tailored to you people
I put extra effort into making mods so I can fix things, that way they suit me better.

That's kind of one of the biggest parts of being alive.
Instead of being content and settling for what others give us, we go out of our way to make things the way we like them, then we share it with everyone else.

Walt Disney adapted classic fairy tales and made them the way he wanted, I don't see why I shouldn't do the same with games.

In its root, it's the same innovation that has driven the human race's technological achievements since the beginning.
I want it faster.
I want it bigger.
More powerful.
More comfortable.
More vivid.
More lifelike.

We just want things to be, in our perception, perfect.
That's all there is in life.

Oh hell yeah, I'd mod tron using updated graphics, I'd fix scenes in X3, make characters die at more meaningful times.

If I could fix all the things I don't like about the stories I love, I would.
then do you really love the story?
yes

Just like I love my family, even though there are things I don't like about them.
And if I didn't want to change anything about them, then I wouldn't spend so much time talking to them and trying to change their minds. If I could just do it, like making a mod, it would be a load off of me emotionally.

My roommate got pissed at me one time for rewiring his sound system.

He had it set to single channel mono running through half capacity wiring, and upped the voltage to a secure full control stereo and introduced a new subwoofer that shook the walls and he didn't like that he basically knew jack shit and had been wiring the system all wrong.

It was really disgusting to see his slop job.
