Forget scary or dangerous, imagine the calories he burns through just to get to the top. Ladders are a lot more difficult than they look for anyone who's ever been to an obstacle course kind of place.

No, but what is the little symbol on the side of this thread?
You have the option to change the symbol when you're creating the thread, but most people overlook it. It's mostly just an attention grabber. I think the actual image is supposed to be a thumbs up.

What makes you think someone known only for shitposting and bait should host a debate? That sounds like a terrible idea.
Well that's funny.

I would be up for helping you judge things. I would also participate if I had an interesting topic that I was passionate about.
Oh yeah and feel free to recommend topics. I forgot to include that in the OP.

I was in one of these tournaments a long time ago and I was never able to finish because my opponent quit too early. Although if we're able to do it again, I along with two others will be judges (I will also serve to set up the debates). If there are enough people who are interested, I think we can actually get this going. It should also help kick off the 'Serious' board and hopefully set the tone for how discussion should be done.

I'm thinking on setting it up like this: randomly assigned topics with randomly assigned stances. Because this is a tournament, opponents are to be randomly assigned as well. However you can still request to debate someone of your choosing on the side, but it wouldn't be a part of the tournament.

Because topics on their own are too general for a small one-on-one debate, there would be an essential question that would focus your arguments. For example you might end up with the topic, 'genetically modified organisms.' The essential question might be, 'are GMO's healthier for people?' You also might end up with the question, 'are GMOs more economical?' My goal is to have more obscure topics that aren't in the news everyday which should keep things more challenging and interesting.

Because this is a tournament, these debates can't last forever. I was thinking that one opponent would be randomly chosen to go first, and the next opponent would have a maximum of 24 hours to reply. A reply later than that would qualify as a disqualification. This should allow people to debate others from different time zones. The judges would watch over the debates and jump in once it appears all arguments and counter arguments are laid out. The opponents should indicate when they've said all they need to to keep the debating from running in circles.

As you'd probably expect, no one is allowed to give any of the opponents any advice. You cannot call out logical fallacies or other unlawful conduct until the debate is over (unless you are one of the opponents). While it is up to the judges to decide the victor, everyone is allowed to pick apart the debate to help give input to the judges.

That's about all I can think of that I need to cover. Please provide input and help improve anything that I laid out. As I said at the beginning, I need two other judges, so feel free to nominate yourself. Judges should be able to withhold bias and read and analyze large walls of text (if you've got this far through my post, you could potentially be a really good judge). It's also better if you don't have a busy schedule. And hopefully not everyone asks to be a judge like everyone asked to a moderator, that's just a giant clusterfuck of disappointment that just isn't necessary. We need many more people who are willing to debate than people who are willing to judge. So speak up if you want this is something you'd be interested in and please provide input. We'll need a minimum size of about 8 if we're to get this going.

If you want the website to last longer and improve its updates, you'll disable adblock for this page. There only seems to be one ad per page so it's not much of an eyesore.

I think the worst was this: "#stfu" put in spoilers.

The Op's name was stfu.

Who are you to determine what I consider healthy, I'm in perfect health, with more weight than the average person. I also couldn't give two shits what anyone else used to weigh, currently weighs, or will weigh. It is the dumbest conversation anyone can have. It's a good thing my programming skills aren't dependent upon maintaining some arbitrary weight that you or anyone else determines is healthy, or normal. Fuck normal.
If you're overweight you are most definitely not in perfect health.

I'm fat, and the last thing I want is your sympathy. I am happy with myself, and anyone who isn't can get fucked.
You're happy that you're fat?

I clear 100k a year working from home, I have a strong personal life with a great family and even better friends. IDG2Fs about anyone's opinion of me; I live a very comfortable life with more than enough people close to me without needing to give a shit what randoms think about me in any respect. You should reconsider you're assumed right to judge people.
And how many years before you spend five times that salary paying for medical bills? You could be happy now but that kind of lifestyle catches up with you. It's not even about being fat, it's about not doing anything about it. And you end up hurting the people around you.

29 down, fuck knows how many to go, and again couldn't give a fuck. I'm living my life, and enjoying the fuck out of it, you keep up your weight loss and feel good about yourself anyway that you can; but stay the fuck out of my life.
"Let's just drill up all the oil in earth and be happy with these low energy costs and not give a damn about what lies ahead in the future." Dangerous thinking you've got there. But you know what, be happy for the short term. Your life; your decision, even if your decisions affect the people around you.

Was once fat in middle school, but not to fat though...

Which group of large people are you talking about? The people who can't really help it, or the people who let it happen and don't do anything about it?
Obviously the latter. I used to be kinda pudgy too when I was young. But one day I decided to fix that, so everyday for a year I woke up two and half hours early before school and did straight cardio. I lost tons of sleep and the extra classes I had certainly didn't help ease my cramped schedule. But the day when you can finally walk around in public without having to tuck in your stomach or worry about what people think of you is the best reward ever. And that's not for a lack of words either. Being comfortable in your own skin is really an amazing feeling.

I've been seeing my extended family once every year ever since I was young for a family reunion up in New Hampshire. I was always the pudgy one and I constantly got shit from it from everyone: my aunts, my younger cousins, my older brother, etc. They would talk about it right in front of me just mocking me as if I was a dog. But you know what I was this to them this year? The athletic one. Even to this day I still exercise everyday doing cardio, and ab and arm exercises. Just because you have a slower metabolism doesn't mean you can't take of yourself. That's the end point.

I don't understand why they don't just exercise if they love to eat so much.

Also I found this gem on Urban Dictionary.

Quote
Fat shaming:

A term made by obese people to avoid the responsibility to actually take proper care of their body and instead victimize themself by pretending they're discriminated like an ethnic group. When confronted with someone like that they will ignore all the facts about obesity being unhealthy and pretend it's some sort of evil socially constructed conspiracy by teh patriarchy

Peter: "You've started gaining weight at a worrying level, maybe we could exercise together and take up a sport since you're always at home"

Bianca: "omg stop disciminating me you're just fat shaming, all my fat is genetics and exercising is just a social construct made by our sexist society, i'm not being brainwashed into ur shauvinistic world"

*Bianca then proceeds to eat burgers and refuses to better herself*

Everyone on the offsite forum already knows. You have little to hide here.
I have little to hide on bnet as well. The moderators know my alts are o_______________o, wtf mfw o____o, o_____o, O_o_O_o_O,  and n__________n.

Oh, those accounts are long dead. I cannot even log into them anymore.
I'm almost inclined to believe you except for the fact that I know that you occasionally log onto Maluki and Piglets and my guess is that there are probably others.
