And this whole time I didn't even know. Now I'm pissed off and ready to confront her about it next time she does something that warrants me to yell at her.

Yeah she's a controlling bitch too. Manipulative, so fucking manipulative. You should see how fast she changes her attitude when she starts talking to other people.

My blood is fucking boiling right now.

Serious / Help me figure out this problem
« on: November 23, 2014, 07:29:25 PM »
It is because of this that I haven't been able to form any political opinions (ever since I threw away my old beliefs). I've been thinking about this for a while now and I still can't figure it out. The problem is in knowing if democracy really is rigged or not--by a small group of wealthy technocrats or some other sort of bureaucratic group, corporate or political.

The more I think about it, the more sense it makes that there are a small few in control of the country. They invent these two ideologies that groups everyone into predictable voting patterns. There's no such thing as uneducated voting because you only have two choices. And it makes more sense when you realize that when you take away all the pointless ideologies and media labeling, the two politicians are nearly identical.

After thinking about this, I then asked myself, 'but Global Climate Change surely is a problem after all, how could it not be?' If these supremely intelligent masterminds are really that smart, they wouldn't allow the right wing to be against it. But I guess the real solution to Global Warming isn't government action, but rather technological innovation. The only sure fire method of combating Global Warming is to limit fossil fuels, and that's not a change you can make over night unless you're looking for some serious consequences.

I honestly just find it a lot more likely over the counter argument which makes it seem like everyone in government is stupid, crazy, and/or has no idea what they're doing. The counter argument being that the common political issues are representative of real individual beliefs (i.e. true democracy) and not that of geniuses who manipulate the public.

If democracy isn't rigged, then I can say I'm a hardcore technocrat that doesn't believed non-skilled/non-educated people should be able to have a say in politics. However if it is rigged, then there's literally no point to discussing politics at all, because both methods of either political party should work.

Am I actually making any sense here or do I just sound like I'm wearing a tin foil hat? Please give your thoughts.

I knew it. I fucking knew it. Even though the post is clearly written in a sarcastic manner you faggots jump on it because I'm the one who wrote it. Doesn't fucking matter what I say, internet reputations are that important for you losers. Good luck in life if you're going to act that autistically.

The irony here is palpable.
You are the one getting platinum mad over a maymay post dustin, why does shit like that bother you so?
Just because I cussed up a storm doesn't mean I honestly care. Yeah it bothers me a little that people on this forum act like this to me, but this is just the internet, and I'm glad I'm not the one so attached to this forum that they act like this.

« on: November 23, 2014, 05:01:30 PM »
If you don't think there's going to be war then why did you say you'd think it'd be likely?

Of course there's going to be tension between India and Pakistan, they hate each other. Tension isn't war, and nobody would to go to war over water because they're start wasting at an even higher rate.

Things will be dealt with the right way.
Between Pakistan and India, there probably won't be war, but it'll be the focal point as the water scarcity becomes the next biggest issue. But there likely will be war in smaller countries, especially in sub-Saharan Africa where the problem of water scarcity is most prevalent. There's really no way to know for sure what's going to happen, but you cannot deny that water is becoming more scarce.

It doesn't matter if the country is ok with it or not. Limiting water so other people don't die of dehydration is a sacrifice most people would be willing to make if the time comes. It's not about political ideologies, it's about doing what's necessary.
You're far too optimistic. Genocides are raging right now and no one gives a fuck. Why would that change any time soon?
It's far more realistic than Mexico declaring war on America, that's for damn sure.
Nice try, but warping my argument isn't going to fly. What's realistic is a dispute between India and Pakistan. Whether or not it turns into the fourth or fifth war between the two countries we'll just have to see.
Genocide =/= water shortage

I'm not warping anything, you brought America and Mexico up. Going to war would deplete water even faster, so there's no point. You seriously think the UN wouldn't have sanctions imposed on India or Pakistan if they went to war over water? It's pretty stupid to think there wouldn't be repercussions. Going to war would just make things far worse for both countries and Western countries would intervene.

You don't have a realistic view of geopolitics if you think something like that would be likely.
Again, I'm not saying it has to be war, but there will at least be tension of some sort once the rivers near the border of their countries dry up enough to the point where it cannot sustain the populations there. Considering they're both nuclear powers, and the United State's involvement in the two countries, it'd be much less likely that there'd be a war there, but they'll have to deal with water scarcity in the coming years some way or another.

It wasn't Comms, Noelle, or Kinder that took down the ProBoards forum

It was Cheat.

I've been writing a few theories on the guy lately, but for now I'm just going to go over the ProBoards theory. There isn't actually much to this. It relies on the basic idea that Cheat was jealous that we were all on ProBoards instead of Sep7agon. Angrily watching ProBoards from a distance, he witnessed Comms Officer and SecondClass piss off Noelle and Kinder to the point where they threatened to report the forum and get it taken down for harassment. The entire forum went up in flames with arguments and fights everywhere. In the midst of this chaos was his time to strike. He swiftly wrote up the report and sent it off to ProBoards, accusing us all of heinous crimes, and our fragile little forum was quickly and effectively killed. But that did not stop the Flood. We moved to yet another ProBoards site. But this made Cheat even angrier. He looked into the rules and found that he could get us taken down again for ban evasion. And by the time the site got taken down Sep7agon was ready for launch and we all migrated here, all under the belief that Comms, Noelle, or Kinder were responsible for filing the reports. Unbeknownst to all, it was really Cheat this whole time. And he thought he could get away with it.

And I will make sure Cheat sees this so the moderators responsible are properly dealt with.

So let me get this straight.
Your plan is to try to raise awareness of the conspiracy orchestrated by Cheat... in Cheat's domain.

Good luck with that.
Whether you're making a joke or not, I'm just making it clear that the thread was obviously not serious. Even if it were, it should not have been locked.

restricted free will is still free will. not being god doesn't make us unable to alter our world.
Again, that's not metaphysically significant.

I never said people can't make choices.
isn't the ability to choose free will?
If every object is just moving the way it moves because it was pushed in that way, then you don't have free will. It gets more complicated than that (obviously) because we're talking about complex neural biology and consciousness, but under the assumption that consciousness isn't anything supernatural and it really is just a weird illusion that we don't understand (but is a biological process nonetheless), then we only make the choices we make because of our past experiences telling us to make that choice.

Though there is good reason to believe that consciousness is more than biological processes.

are you talking about the thread where you theorize that Cheat was behind the Proboards nuking all along?

i actually liked that and i'm surprised why it was even locked in the first place. nothing offensive, nothing calling anyone out, and it wasn't spam. maybe the mods are just so scared about potential drama that they just locked it out of instinct without really thinking about it.
The warning I got said it was spam. If only they would lock digital zesty threads, but I guess it's not spam unless you dislike the user.

Serious / Re: Are the water wars coming?
« on: November 23, 2014, 02:38:12 PM »
Probably. We have enough drinkable water for the entire planet, the problem is distribution. Countries with water aren't going to want to share, and countries in need of water are going to be pissed off that they're not sharing. Desalination really isn't practical for poor countries, it's not even practical for western countries.
So what are these poor countries with a shitty infrastructure and military going to do? Invade America/Europe for water?
No, they'd fight each other over what little there is. And these poor countries aren't all that weak. India, Pakistan, China all have water problems and might end up warring with each other if it means securing water supplies for their own needs.
Countries with more water do share. That's happening right now.
Before you go on a giant insulting rant and get banned, please understand the reality of the situation here. Water shortages are a huge problem, and they're happening right now even in the United States. There are no countries within a thousand miles of Pakistan and India that have a surplus of water (Pakistan and India being the most dire situation). Even if there were, the chances that a country would want to build a giant pipeline (which is hugely impractical) to them is small. They can only deal with the limited amount of water that they have, and their supply is only dwindling. Tension of some sort is going to happen.
I've never been banned having a discussion with you, in fact it's the opposite.

There have been water shortages before and richer countries have shared water. Seriously, it's not something to go to war over.
Isara was demoted from moderation for not being able handle not that situation. Next time you do something like that you will be banned, don't act like you can get still get away with name calling and other bullshit you've done. End of story.

As for your water shortages argument, you still don't understand the depth of the problem. We aren't talking about lend lease, we're talking about permanent infrastructure and plans to distribute water. Let's talk about the United States alone. If California wants to solve their water crisis, they essentially have to limit the amount of water people can use per day. And they can do that, but if you don't think there aren't going to be any consequences then you're not thinking this through. Do you think the rest of the country is going to be okay with having limited water resources like California so that Mexico can have some water?

Distributing water resources just isn't politically realistic. In fact there's a name for it: socialism.
