yeah, yeah, I namedropped. I won't do it again,
As is much appreciated. If the two of you can't sort this out, in the very least try to ignore and tolerate one another. This isn't going to devolve into constant slights that will inevitably spiral out of control.
I just don't appreciate the way he talks shit about me like I did something super horrible >.>

A few days ago I think we actually had normal conversation with no problem too. So I really don't get why old shit needs to constantly be brought up (in a twisted manner from what actually happened, at that). It's unnecessary and uncalled for.
HO-HO-HOLY SHIT THAT IS FUCKING GOLD COMING FROM YOU

To be honest though, I feel like the majority of this doesn't even matter. The more meaning I try to find in politics and philosophy, the less meaning I realize is actually there. So I guess human beings are supposed to assign themselves values and follow them to their deaths or something? I'd rather live life without any of this on mind, like I usually do, than to "wallow" in this boring nihilistic thought.

If I have to have a final word, it'd be for western society to live conservatively in our current nature with only minor changes for efficiency and welfare... and hope there is nothing inherently wrong (contradictory in ethics and function) with the main tenants of this system we're living in.

>drama
>just words on the screen

The only "drama" you ought to deal with is spam that makes the site less useable. Beyond that you're just delusional if you think going "out of control" is even possible on a text based forum.

That's because the worst members of the site were active. That happens.

The Flood / Finished my last final today.
« on: December 11, 2014, 03:10:01 AM »
Got home around 3:00PM and fell asleep for 12 hours and here I am now

I definitely could have done better this semester but the first few weeks of college were really tough for me to adapt to. I keep running this dream through my head where I'm at an interview with my future employer and they ask me, "If you couldn't adapt to college that well, what makes you think you'll adapt to work any better?" I was on track of everything the second half of the semester, but the first half really screwed me up pretty bad. I might still have a chance at a 3.0 this semester, but I'll probably be just short of it. I was planning on maybe joining the military for a few years after I get my chemical engineering degree anyway, so maybe employers look at me differently after that, but who knows really.

ITT: Post college struggles, ambitions, and plans.

These threads are blatant damage control for when the mods get called out for their occasional bullshit.

Serious / Re: Do you have any original ideas?
« on: December 11, 2014, 02:15:56 AM »
I've come up with tons of ideas on my own that I thought were the coolest, just to find out other people have thought of them already. That or the ideas were just stupid and didn't work. I have an old notebook that I used to fill with all my "inventions" that I thought of during high school and all the mechanics for how'd they work that I planned on making when I grew up, but all that notebook is to me now is pit of lost hopes and sadness.

I think I'd honestly fit better around Hobbes (if I were to seriously take the test) but I have no idea what his philosophies are.

This is Dustin btw, not Harlow.

Slave economy and fascism are heavily underrated IMO mostly because people are unable to imagine it coming from the society we live in. It's all about efficiency, the people can be placated under all economic systems if need be without having to give them the right to property or speech. You can argue that technological progress would be strained and slowed in a slave economy, but I think the importance of innovation is heavily overrated. We can placate the rulers of the slave economy as well, if they're not happy without air conditioning efficiency or transportation.

These are both one in the same. The employee acts as a leech to their employer, and assumes extraordinary and unnecessary benefits and pay that are harmful to the company and to the economy as a whole.

I'm just guessing here, but I don't see how there's any pull, other than the "force" of evolution, that draws matter to assemble and disperse energy, so I really don't see the point of this physical perspective of life. Unless the implication is that all energy needs to eventually convert to heat energy because of the laws of thermodynamics, which I guess exist so that the universe can eventually collapse back into a singularity in a 'it only exists because its opposite exists' law of the universe.

Did that make any sense or did I just give you all heart attacks in which case...

Meta should not be made a monitor. His ego is large enough as it is.
If you think Meta is the one with the ego then you clearly don't use this site that often. Not that he doesn't have an ego, he does, but he earned it through his intellectualism that keeps the serious forum from becoming a cesspit of challengerx and door retardation spam and also generally just making us all more intelligent. Now there are users with much larger egos who've gained it literally by shitposting, spamming, and with the sole purpose to get their post count up.

Sorry if this post is written horribly, I just woke up, but you get my point.
