In the case of "shitposting," obviously spam is banable but the style of shitposting that some of us have kinda formed is just posting threads with the intention of being funny/silly/clever. I see nothing wrong with that.
Problem is, most of these aren't funny or clever.
Doesn't mean other people don't find them that way, though.
Once in a while is okay, but people do it way too often Honestly I don't really agree with restricting discussion, but they need to keep the majority of the random shit in one giant thread.

This thread is not about the users which live in this box, this thread is merely a discussion about the box itself. Generally, the sympathy box entails a narrow variety of threads in which users write overly long posts to get people to feel bad for them. There's often no real discussion value to the threads, but the idea itself is pretty ingenious. These users are able to soar in popularity and likability over night simply by using pity on unsuspecting forum members. Recently, the sympathy box has been going crazy with activity. Users no longer need to have jobs, they simply need to write up a sad story and attach a donation bin at the bottom of the thread. White knights serve as the sympathy box's 'sword', making sure those who do not donate to the pity-seekers are seen horrible people who belong in the Hell.

What is your opinion on the growing sympathy box in Septagon? Can people be milked forever for their pity and their spare change or will we eventually see an end to whine spam that has plagued these forums for the past two months?

Anyways, this is a double-edged sword. There's potential for it to be successfully used, and successfully abused. If someone's thread starts getting derailed, or people get angry and start assaulting each other in the thread and there's no monitors online, the person can then lock their own thread.
Then there's the spam of lock threads in the Flood, like "LOL I LOCKED THIS THREAD; LOL I LOCKED ANOTHER THREAD".
I don't particularly have a stance on this issue, but whatever happens happens. Wouldn't mind either way.
First of all that's not harassment. If minor things like that were harassment then I'd have tons of users here banned in an instant. Anyway, Rocket's already been confronted about his behavior and I haven't seen him act immaturely towards me since. So fuck off. Secondly, that's not an even an argument. That's like saying "hey well we shouldn't have a forum because people will have the ability to post child porn." If someone abuses the feature, they can be banned. You literally have no serious argument here and that's very clear to multiple people here.
