While it may be ideal for someone simply practicing free speech and not engaging in violence to be in the right, it's just not practical. Is the right to manipulate people into causing destruction worth another Ferguson incident? People are stupid and have a tendency to act emotionally rather than logically, you just can't ignore human nature. And, in this case, if we do we will see violence.
Now you can also argue how practical it is for security forces to detect and respond to the crowd rilers which is another serious problem. And of course you'll have to deal with blurry lines like Communism advocacy and other rebellious opinion pieces, which aren't necessarily as threatening and take a more serious chunk of the freedom of speech away.
