The Flood / Re: what are some movies you never get tired of?

So many movies. I think I set a new record though. I watched District 9 three times last year when I was going on a sci-fi binge.

Ehhh. I'll toss my hat in. A project requiring multiple people about the forum? Sounds interesting enough.

Heyo folks. I think it's time we talked about something interesting. Gmod and SFM art. It's a recent thing that's started over the past few years and I think not many people here are aware of just what can be done in these two respective programs. And, most of all, personally I believe the majority of art communities shun such things like this.

Or at the very least, they don't regard them as art. I figure I know why, and that's because everything is pre-made. Models, maps, effects and so on. But to anybody who's ever used SFM or Gmod, if you know even a small fraction of how these programs work, you'll know that some of the things you can do are not only amazing if you have the right head for it, but also hard in their own damn right.

The simple act of setting up a picture takes hours or even days. Getting everything just right is no easy task. And after all of that some people take their work into editors like photoshop and the like. So.

Here's a few simple pictures I found that caught my eye because these people really know what the fuck they're dong.

Spoiler

And, most of all, if you folks are up for it, I've known my way around gmod for a while now. And it's just recently that I put my serious cap on and I want to see just how far I can go. So, I might start posting my work here sometime soon.
I follow this guy.

Here's some stuff from his gallery.

I'm a sucker for crossovers.

i don't know what's going on here? 2 videos of using rockets??
It's just a video of a pro using some rocket technique and Admirals trying to copy him
Both look exactly the same. Aim rockets, allow it to lock, shoot.

Okay, here's the funny thing. These are Halo players here. Now, by most standards, average players you meet in matchmaking have the relative IQ of a rock.

They'd take this weapon, just like people did with the plasma launcher, aim it at a target, and fire. Now, the difference here is what admirals and the dude did.

You notice how they get the lock on, and then fire the weapon up or to the side, away from the target? 9 times out of 10 if they held the weapon completely straight, like the average MM rock of a player would, those homing rockets would have tracked their target strait into a wall.

But arcing them around corners or above them gives you a whole other realm of viabalities to use the weapon.

Exactly like the plasma launcher in the reach Beta. Locking on and then turning away from the target gave you some pretty fucking sick ass kills around corners and obstacles.

But. Like I said. Calling it.

It's gonna get fuckin' nerfed.

Callin' it.

This is Plasma Launcher "OPness."

It's going to get the hammer dropped on it and nerfed into the ground.

I feel like telling a story, regarding fat people and fighting. A good friend of mine showed me around Quebec one time, and he took me to a place that he went to when he was younger. My friend knows some stuff on martial arts. So he took me to one of the places where he learned martial arts.

And the teacher, the head honcho of the place, was this fucking enormous fat guy. He was easily in the 300 pound weight area. And you take one look at him and you want to laugh. He's this kind of stout, heavy, fat looking guy. But he can fucking move god damn. And he knows waaaay fucking more than my friend does in terms of martial arts.

When my friend was younger, he was cocky. Arrogant. And not afraid of a fight. And he always mouthed off with the fat guy. So the fat guy invited him into the ring. Long story short, my friend got his ass handed to him on both fronts.

The fat guy beat him in terms of skill, and my friend, who went in for cheap shots, hit fat.

And the fat guy laughed him off and mopped the floor with him.

I wasn't there to see it because that happened a long damn time ago. But I watched the fat guy instruct people. Like I said. For a 300 pound dude this guy can fucking move.

But seriously though. What's actually impressive is that while this guy is fat, he's built like a fucking tank. And that's honestly scarier then a well toned, fit person.

Because not only is he obviously fit, but he's in a decently heavy weight class. He can not only mop the floor with you but have any of you people ever tried punching fat? When somebody's really weighty, punching fat has no effect. You can't hit bones or joints or places that hurt because there's fat in the way.

Let me tell you folks something. If you ever get into a fight with a fat guy who knows how to fight well, back the fuck out.

Did you get far with my challenge? :3

Aye that I did not. I'm fucking flooded up to my neck in unfinished work and stories that are on hold because my gears are jammed. These days I'm only able to manage baby steps in terms of writing. A few paragraphs a day, maybe at couple pages a the most.

I know I've been jokey in the Halo threads in gaming but that's only because I don't have an Xbone. I had planned to get one for the beta but fuck £350 for one game. Hopefully I can get an Xbone before the actual release.

That and Jet Set Radio Future has the best soundtrack to date. Fucking find one that can top it. You can't.

Did you know that lol spelled upside down is lol?
Did you know that, in Dutch, "lol" is actual word meaning fun / enjoyment?

No I didn't. I learned two things today. How to survive edged weapons and that lol in dutch means fun or enjoyment. Now I can say that my day was not useless or unproductive.

I did a little bit of adding today folks. Since I started writing miscellaneous stories two years ago, I've just added everything up today. Finished or unfinished, I am the author of exactly 60 short stories, all of which span 1891 pages in total.

I don't know about you folks, but I'm going hunting for some leftover christmas eggnog. Fucking hell that's cool.

Cheers folks!

Talk about cool shit you like.
