It's pretty obvious Bungie just saw it's crowd as a bunch of kids that can't comprehend a story, so they just got worse and worse over time.
This. In Halo 2 we have Grunts and Hunters fighting the Brutes along with the Arbiter. But in Halo 3 we don't have a real civil war due to having no other species besides the elites fighting the brutes, grunts, hunters, drones and jackals. It's a civil war that seems more like the elites simply broke off and waged a war with the humans against the Covenant. When it comes to the games there's nothing civil about it. It's like Bungie thinks we're too retarded to tell the difference between grunts and hunters that could have a different color to determine their side for us.

Then when it comes down the Covenant instead of them calling each other their actual species name they use the names the humans gave them. Once again Bungie thinks we're too retarded to handle them calling each other names that we're not used to.

Well, actually, most Covenant don't speak english by default. The higher ups have a grasp of it but they rarely speak it, and most speak with difficulty.

Any gameplay we had with english speaking covenant was most likely translation software. And cutscenes using human applied names to species?

Consider that translating for the audience.

I thank the universe everyday that I don't have a shitty sense of humor like you guys.

Well, humor is subjective after all. I wouldn't say it's shitty cause it helps improve my mood every now and then. If you wanna thank the universe that you're not me then by all means, you go right ahead.

Bonus points for not being rocket since he's christian and all that.

And he's probably being eaten by cannibals at this point.

Vore.
Scat.
Gore.
Oedipal.

Those are all worse than furry/pony, but furry/pony is still WAY up there.

And you just casually discard digging up coffins and fucking corpses.

Good job Verb.

Well. Except for the ones who attacked Eden Prime. And the splinter faction in ME2 who decided that kill all meatbags was a better alternative.

Well gentlemen, that's that I guess. I'm going to take whatever free time I have left and enjoy my quiet in peace before I head out. I'll see you all in about 21 days if my math is right.

Don't meme the place too hard while I'm gone.

Seen any dead people yet?

No, actually. It's been the worst environmental issue in our province since it's been founded. But there's been 0 casualties.

Do they at least give you food?

Of course they do. They set up mobile camps. The red cross is up there supplying food and bunks/tents and medical aid and all that shit. You get dropped off back at camp at the end of the day by a chopper and get picked up in the morning to fly farther out because there's no roads that far north.

Oh shit, that actually sounds kinda fun

You meat any cool pebbles?

Not really, no. It's hard to socialize when you literally wake up, eat as fast as you can, gear up, get in the chopper, and head out. You come back at the end of the day, eat, remove gear, sleep, rinse and repeat.

That sucks

Not really. I'm not a social kind of person and I'm part wise used to that kind of lifestyle anyway.

Is your helichopper pilot hot?

He's a fat old guy who's loud as fuck because he can yell over the sound of chopper blades.

You should thank him for his service.

Implying that I already haven't. I get along well with older people. He's probably the only person around who I've had a chance to talk to really.

What made you want to volunteer for that?

Dunno. My province was on fire. I was thinking about it a while back. When the fires were at their height they were only three hours away and my town got put up on evacuation warning.

I was sitting around thinking. "Hey, let's be useful and give people a hand up there."

The more I listened to reports the more I wanted to help. This was something within my power and range to do so. So I did.

Ur not getting paid for this spooky shit?

I'm a volunteer of my own free will. So no, I'm on no payroll. I'm not an actual firefighter. Just an aid. Hook up machinery and hoses, drive shit, dig shit like trenches on advancing fires, and travel behind advancing firefighter lines to put out small residual burns.

It's now friday today, bright and early. My week off is almost up. I'll be packing my shit up and leaving on Sunday, and resuming my volunteer fire aid shift up north for another three weeks as of Monday.

As it stands the now current total number of active fires in my province is down to 70, with the big fire over 100,000 hectares in size still burning.

Blog post and yada yada, all that stuff, I probably won't stick around for the remainder of the last few days here. So, without further adieu, I say goodbye in advance again for a little bit.

I'll see you folks around. Take care.

Edited bit here because I'd like to say some stuff before I head out.

Spoiler
I'd like to thank you guys, all of you, for over time providing such a decent place to hang around for me. Ups and downs, I know that, but overall the time here so far has been well enough off. And I'd like to apologize for derp moments of mine since I started rolling out into meds and stuff. I do my best to keep stuff under wraps.

Maybe I haven't done the best of doing that either, but I do try. This job that I'm undertaking now, well, it's a long haul to be sure. Or at least it feels like it. 21 days. Maybe it doesn't quite mean so much to you folks, but it means something to me. I'm just not the best at being a proper functioning person when it comes to social non-loner type stuff.

You folks are really the only people I have here, and have been the only ones over the course of the last year or so. Call it what you will, but I'll miss the company of this place while I'm gone. It's been a tough summer this year. Ups and downs and all that. I know it's not exactly a party for a fair few of folks here either.

But still, it leaves me all a little bit lost right now. So. I'll miss you guys. You all take care now. I'll see ya around.

Not only have they shown no inclination--they've been completely hostile to the franchise itself.

Four cancelled games.

Also, good luck on the travel trip. I had some good times earlier this week too, just as I got back from my shift up north. My dad showed up to visit while he was on vacation passing through the province.

Hope your family fun time is fun too.
