To be fair, it was the error log that made us sink for a bit (it was an outrageous size). But even then, we would have hit that wall in a few months at the rate we were going.

Another host?
When I picked this one it was sort of like "FuckFuckFuckFuck the site is down I need a host like now FuckFuckFuckFuck." The reviews for it are shit (nearly as bad as Fatcow) and the control panel is restricting; not to mention this sort of asshattery that they give me with database sizes. So yeah, we're probably going to switch hosts again. Since the site is not tanked like the last time, when we switch over you'll only experience an hour or two of downtime as the IP address propagates.

No. Our host set the limit for our database to 1MB and we went over that with the accumulating error log. It's been cut off temporarily while I shop for a new host.
And I'll also look into your trouble with the support forum.

Our current host is kind of sucking dicks, lately. They didn't tell me there was a database size limit of 1MB, and so when the error log for the forum made the database too large, it cut us off.
I've dumped and disabled the error logging temporarily while I work on getting a new host set up.

Christ, can you guys stop making more Robin Williams threads? I've had to merge four of them together.

U mad?
And Paramore
Mad yet?
And My Chemical Romance
Come at me
A few of her songs are good. I also listen to Paramore and don't hate My Chemical Romance.

Dead compared to what?
I've seen way worse forum populations. For an offsite we're doing fairly well.

Back when Charlie left DeeJ said that if it were up to him we'd only have #Destiny and #gaming on b.net as he doesn't think we should discuss anything else.
Do you have a link or a screenshot of this?

You're not the only one. Notifications will take a while to set up, since the forum doesn't support them out of the box. They're not very high on the priority list, so you may be waiting a while.

You're fine. There's been a bit of back and forth about the rules being too restricting versus the fear of what would happen if they were too lax. I'm just trying to get a feel for something that would work the best for everyone. There are, unfortunately, members here who would abuse the freedom to post NSFW content; and IP bans are only an obstacle to them.
And you're spot on about how new we are. Sep7agon hasn't even been up a month yet.

If we were going to remove the chains on NSFW, then I would suggest one thing. You know what Bungie did with a good chunk of garbage that clouded up the Destiny forums and was spilling over to others? They made a new forum category, and called it clans.
I wouldn't break the lock and chains on offtopic, gaming, or anywhere else. I would just make a forum, where everything was contained safely in a padded bunker. Because, naturally, if we broke the chains on offtopic or any other forum, some asshat would abuse it. But in a padded cell restricting the content to just that zone, it'd be fine. You put lots of signs up, you know, biological safety hazard signs and construction crews at work signs, stuff like that, to let folks know what they're stepping into, and you let it go from there.
But not into the other forums.
Wasn't it comms that brought up that idea? I think it was called the "Anarchy" forum. Most of the users voted that one down, and I was wary of it for splitting the small population we have now. That's a pretty good compromise, though, I will admit. If we were to go that route, however, there would be some restrictions placed on the board (no guests or new members allowed, no post count tracking to keep someone from rapidly increasing their rank, etc.).

You're going to allow NSFW?
Vien is going to have a field day.
Just checking the forum's pulse. Nothing's decided yet.

A Dumb Door made a good point in the rule thread about allowing NSFW content. Click the link to check it out. Since we do have access to the spoiler tag, I am open to the idea of axing a few of the current rules and opening up The Flood to mostly all topics, save anything illegal and a couple other items that are irritating (soliciting and spoiling movies/books/tv shows). This potential new ruleset would also affect the other forums (Serious and Gaming, where applicable). If Not Safe For Work threads were clearly marked in the title and the potentially offensive content was put in a spoiler with a short description about what was inside, would you be in favor of allowing them here?

I wasn't the one to lock it, but I would assume it was locked because it read like a well-disguised troll thread.
I'll PM the mod who locked it the link to this thread for you.

Would love to have the reply button at the bottom of each post again. :S
That's an easy fix and I would be willing to add it in.

There's been a rise in story threads. I think this could be beneficial now.
I'm noticing that as well. It's too late for me to set up a new forum tonight, and I am going to be out of town tomorrow, but I can definitely set one up on Monday to see how the topic count does. Think of it as a probationary period.

I look at halo.bungie.net's Community forum and I see striking similarities in the types of posts put there and here...
What do you think?
Community would be a good alternative, but it's easier to find the place to report bugs in if it's named "Suppport." Good idea for the future, though.

Who's alt is this?
The IP is unique, so it's probably a proxy if it is an alt.

He put it in Offtopic as well.
I would not be opposed to recruiting new members (even if they're from Density). Comms is banned for a few days and there won't be much to do.
