Change email service is finished, which was actually more challenging than I thought, since the site needs to keep BOTH emails until you've verified the new one (so you don't get locked out).

I'm 1/3 through password / account recovery, which is another medium-sized service.

not something i would urge you to implement or anything, but i still think it would be neat if our "likes received" page could be sorted

it would be cool if we could look back at our most liked posts over the years without having to sift through each page manually
Not one of the high priority features, but I’d be ok adding in a filter for this, yeah.

Would be good to have Youtube videos only load when corresponding Youtube spoiler tag is open (if such thing will still exist in 3.0). Same for images in spoilers. Now I request that, but I have no idea how hard it is and API might just handle it automatically.
This is something that is pretty easy, thankfully. Also a detail I had planned too. Images will be lazy loaded so they come in at the last second and YT vids won’t load their iframe until a user interacts with them.

Where's coup?
So there's customization features I am planning:

1. Coup, where users will be able to save custom CSS rules that are scoped so they ONLY apply to their own posts and can reference images and backgrounds that users upload (in order to ensure users aren't loading in massive image files). This would be a toggle that is off by default, but that anyone can turn on in order to see the coup'd version of everyone's posts.

2. Custom stylesheets so that users can "theme" the site. I'm a bit undecided about this one, since I do intend on making the front-end open source so that users who are css savvy can contribute their own complete styles and create pull requests. I am leaning this way over just letting anyone submit css themes, since that way I can ensure quality while also keeping it more or less democratic and open.

Oh yeah, direct youtube URLs don't work for some reason.

#Invalid YouTube Link#
youtu.be links don't work you mean, a direct link would be youtube.com/watch?v=___
alternatively, you don't really even need the link at all

obverse:
YouTube

Code: [Select]
[youtube]7XzqCUbiPc4[/youtube]
I'm open to suggestions here. Everything will need to be developed again, so a lot of features that weren't possible before will be possible now. I DO plan on using markdown instead of BBCode, since it's a lot easier to work with on a phone than typing out long encapsulation tags.

What that will mean is that YouTube and other embeddable "things" like soundcloud, Vimeo, etc. could just be rendered as embeds on the front end and all users would need to do is type the URL (the app would figure it out).

Bringing this back because I made it an unofficial rule to get at least 1 feature finished every day.

Some things have changed since I first made this thread. 3.0 will be a SPA (likely a PWA later) running on a de-coupled front and back end. Everything will be API driven, which means, yes, I or ANY of you can legit make a mobile app. The back-end serves data via JSON so anything can hook into it.

Out of the box, it's going to run really great on mobile and won't do full page requests every time you click something.

I'm also, at this time, open to more suggestions and wish-list items again (although I never stopped accepting them). Eventually I'll allow contributors for those of you familiar with SCSS, HTML, and more specifically Angular / TypeScript.

Email auth / verification is done from the API side. Work will need to be done once I have a front-end to link to via the email (right now it just sends the code).

Update: change password route is finished.

Figured out how to auto-save tokens into the Insomnia environment variables. Makes things a lot easier to work with.

Update:

The tech stack for v3 is changing. It will be a headless, API driven Laravel back-end and an Angular 10/11 front-end (depending on if they update it in a month or so).

What is done:

1. Registration endpoint (excluding email auth)
2. Login endpoint
3. Logout endpoint

Next things I'll target:

1. Email authentication / confirmation
2. Change password
3. Forgot password

It's looking like the best way for me to go about this is to build out the services FIRST and use Insomnia as my "browser" before I even think about working with the front-end. More updates soon. Maybe.

Question for anyone who can answer. How fast is it to get internet setup in a new place you move into? When I moved in with my brother six years ago and the place I'm in now, they already had their internet set up and I just paid them for the usage. Whenever I do get my own place I'd have to get my own plan but I don't really know where/how to start.
I imagine it varies wildly from company to company. I'd say you would be at least 12 days without a connection. A technician will have to come and activate the connection. This depends on when the company will send him out and if he actually shows up on schedule.
It kinda just depends, yeah. I made it a priority to get moving on the process a couple days before moving in and I was only without it for a day before the technician came in to install the modem and such.

Yeah, I took a brief look around. Somehow this place has devolved even further since the last time I visited. I shall not be staying long, or else I'll lose what little sanity I have left. Ugh...its like somebody took the worst of old bungie.net, shoved it into a barrel and just let it ferment for several years.
That's my fetish.

if you're gonna do the campaigns you need to do Red War, Curse of Osiris and Warmind before September as they're taking them out of the game once the new expansion drops.
that's retarded
They are shit campaigns so good riddance, imo.

The Flood / Re: I started injections today
« on: June 20, 2020, 07:12:00 PM »
Does it hurt? Do you do the injections yourself?
no, it's completely painless

I use 29g needles and can't even feel them, I've heard you can feel 25g a little more but it's still mostly painless.

If I were doing intramuscular injections I've heard it would hurt quite a bit

and yes, I do them at home
Neat. I might ask about those when I go back to the doctor. My endo is retiring and I gotta get a new one. The dude told me he didn’t typically observe a difference between sublingual and oral and he always recommended oral over patches and injections.
that is a hard yikes

oral hrt can damage your liver over time and cause blood clots, as well as putting you at increased risk of embolism
aside from the dangers, that's the first time I've legitimately heard of a doctor saying something like that

does your endocrinologist primarily work with post-menopausal women or something?
Nope. He was the de-facto endo in this area. The hospital I go to is putting together a transgender center or whatever, so I’ll have plenty of choices once that is a thing.
