As next week marks the release of Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, I am taking the time to look back at the past mistakes and hoping they will be taken care of. Infinity Ward is but a shell of their former selves, and I am skeptical of Sledgehammer Games since they assisted in the dreadful MW3.

So if you view this video, keep these points in mine if you play the new one.

Black Ops 1 campaign was the last great one in my opinion. We need another espionage-esque/secret Cold War project type game. Adding JFK in the game was a nice touch, as well as footage of Castro and a plot that centered around the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Yeah I loved the Black Ops games. I also loved CoD 4 (big time) and MW2, but when MW3 and Ghosts came around. Wow was I angry--same crap from them every time. I sure hope that the Hold X to whatever stuff has been changed! Alien Isolation does it soooooooo much better!

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
The last Call of Duty game I hyped and was excited for was MW2 and it lived up to the hype and everything in between. That game alone still looks great for a game made in 2009 and it still plays great. My friends and I still play MW2 regularly because its just so great, far better than any CoD since its release.

MW2 just had it all man. The multiplayer is super addictive, the gunplay/gameplay overall is fun, all the guns are useful, so many different ways to play the game, has the best soundtrack, has some of the best maps, most rewarding challenges(I actually felt like I accomplished something when I completed a difficult challenge), and nothing I mean nothing will beat playing Search and Destroy in MW2.

I gave Blops 2 a lot of shit before it was released because they added future elements into it and it looked pretty ridiculous. Well, sometimes ridiculous is good because it was different and that's what the game was. I borrowed the game from a friend and played it nonstop and enjoyed it thoroughly just like I did with MW2. I got the same vibe from Blops 2 that I did with MW2, both great CoDs that had me addicted to the multiplayer and other content. Black Ops 2 is my 3rd favorite Call of Duty, right behind Call of Duty 4 and MW2.

I didn't need to play Ghosts to know it was bad because as soon as I saw the very first reveal video(The one with the fish AI) I instantly knew the game was going to be terrible because it looked exactly the same as MW3, which I think is the worst CoD to date. This new Infinity Ward will never top the old Infinity Ward's success and they think they will just because people buy their game. The old Infinity Ward made their games with the utmost top-tier quality. This new Infinity Ward? Nothing, they're just in it for the money.

Advanced Warfare will be nothing but a failure just like Ghosts. I can't believe I am saying this but Treyarch is the only CoD dev that can save the franchise now as their games seem to be the only CoDs worth playing now.

WaW: Best in the series
MW2: The MP is fun, even in it's shitty glitchy hacked awfulness.
Black Ops: Story was good, MP was meh/fun.
MW3: Shitty campaign, shitty multiplayer. Also the colour grey couldn't be shovelled into that game any more.
Black Ops 2: Shitty campaign with a few entertaining levels like the opening on and the machete rampage, but boring really. MP is meh, kind of fun but very full of crap and shitty camos everywhere.
Ghosts: First CoD that I didn't buy/play because it looked even worse than MW3
AW: I was interested because of the campaign trailers but the gameplay looks like a shittier MW3/Titanfall hybrid.

It's basically been downhill since black ops 1, BO2 was alright but it's getting notably worse.

If I end up hating it and find it like the Infinity Ward games, then you an expect a similar video like the OP.

I'm actually quite enjoying AW. Definitely an improvement over MW3 and Ghosts, imo. Also, the whole double jumping and boosting in mid-air thing that's reminding you of Titanfall is only in a handful of campaign missions and the multiplayer. You basically get different types of exo-suits depending on your "faction" and mission. So far, I've only had the double jump in 2 or 3 of them, while other missions equip you with things like a compact riot shield, grappling hook, audio jammer or climbing gloves.

They've also introduced a new system of campaign challenges (kills, grenade kills, intel collected, headshots) which will get you upgrade points to spend on your abilities like mobility, damage dealt, flinching when shot, extra grenades... to be used throughout the campaign. It's done rather well.

Also, the campaign really doesn't seem as short as people are making it out to be. Of course, don't expect a 30+ hour masterpiece, but I'm about 2/3rds through and have already put in a decent amount of hours. Admittedly, this is on Veteran difficulty while picking up all the 45 pieces of intel and going for some of the other campaign achievements on the way, but the campaign doesn't strike me as particularly short. I find it hard to believe that the people claiming it's only 4-5 hours long did anything other than rush through the game on the easiest difficulty while skipping all cutscenes, ignoring the setpieces and running past most enemies.

Hmm, it might still be worth picking up when it's cheap then <.<

Yeah, definitely wait for the price to drop. I got my copy at a discount too, and I'm happy that I did. It's fun, but I don't see myself putting hours upon hours into the game in the long run.

The Exo Survival mode is also pretty neat, if you're in to that kind of stuff.

Treyarch seems to be the only good CoD dev, haven't played or seen any gameplay of AW.

I want all of the CoD developers, and Activision, to go bankrupt. Then I want all of their employees to go off to other companies to make better shit, and have the CEOs and people in charge of marketing and sales and shit to go die in a hole.

Infinity Ward did the right thing when half their staff went to go to Respawn. I hope more devs do this.
