People have started adding mods to the Xbox and PS4 categories on bethesda.net, so we can see what kind of stuff we'll be getting. Not much now, but the stuff we have on the lists right now is tge kind of stuff I'd want anyway; small mods that do minor bits to the game rather than massive overhauls so I'm happy.

I love you, son.
I just want the Creation Kit so I can make Fallout 1: Bethesda Edition. You know that quest where you have to kill the Radscorpions for Shady Sands? Now you can repeat that for ANY town, and there's no option to blow up the cave!

Also, the Master is now a generic super mutant with no unique model!

Question because i'm not keeping up to date with this but

Does the GECK or their filter have a check for suitability for mods?
I imagine it has to be done with the GECK for consoles so that you aren't adding in things like nazi stormtrooper armour (breaks my heart) but would stuff like zombie apocalypse which spawns 30 feral ghouls in every other cell be allowed or denied for console limitation?

I recall Todd Howard saying something like players would be able to "break" their consoles if they wanted to, so console limitations shouldn't be a problem.

hue

Good good, it might be tempting to add some visual mods to the game on the console then. Seasons or something.

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
Meanwhile, on PS4...

4 mods, with only one being remotely interesting (Settlement Expander). One is fucking PONG, with a bugs section stated as "fix it yourself".

I hope to god these improve once serious modders get onto the scene (and hopefully port over PC mods, I need dem readable dialogue options).

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
PS4 mods need improvement.

I need different hairstyles for my female character and Macho Man Deathclaws

Bethesda said they'd be filtering mods for content though. So nothing really offensive (like nazis and nudity) are going to make it through if Bethesda is paying attention.

Without access to F4SKE what you can do with mods on console is going to be pretty limited. I wouldn't expect anything too crazy on console platforms.

I've no issue with them keeping it family friendly, but they better let WW2 uniforms through (without insignias) <_<

Probably because XBone mods are releasing this month, but PS4 mods aren't releasing until June.

Enchanting needs to stay in The Elder Scrolls.

Fallout has never been realistic, and the legendary weapon effects are fantastic. I agree that legendary enemies need to go, but I hate this nitpicking every single thing about Fallout 4 shit.

Can you give me one criticism of the legendary effects other than "magic shouldn't be in Fallout"? They're varied, interesting, and make guns unique.

The legendary system removes the fun/ uniqueness of named weapons (Like A3-21's rifle in Fallout 3) because you get them all the time.

Plus, legendaty enemies aren't fun to fight. Their regenerating health gets old quick.

They should have just done separate types of ammo to give explosive/ incendiary/ AP/ hollow point bullets rather than make it luck based.

Yeah, they're fucking magic. Of course they are.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GameplayAndStorySegregation

People latch onto every small little thing they can grasp at when trying to criticize Bethesda. The worst parts of Fallout 4 are easily the dialogue, quests, and RPG elements. The gameplay/gunplay is literally perfect.

Ammo types aren't a catch all. You can't do a two shot ammo type, an anti-ghoul ammo type, etc. That would be even worse, to imply a certain type of ammunition in the Fallout world knows whether it's hitting a ghoul or not.

But yeah, I do wish there were more true unique weapons, though, like The Deliverer, but that's a completely different thing. Legendary effects and true unique weapons could easily coexist if Bethesda put forward the effort to add them in.

Yeah, and for some people having magic in fallout is a big no no. There's nothing wrong with not liking immersion breaking weapons in a game.

VATS is magic. Most perks are magic. In Fallout 1 and 2, magic was everywhere.

There's this new thing called "gameplay". Legendary weapon effects, VATS, perks, fourth wall breaks, and such, are not part of the story. If it breaks immersion for you, then go read a book.

The magic shit is immersion breaking. This is Fallout, not Borderlands or Destiny. You say it's never been realistic, which in some ways is true, but up until Fallout 4 it has, for the most part, followed the rules set within the universe. Having a gun that heals you when you hit an enemy doesn't fit at all.The RNGisation of Fallout 4 is one of the worst things about the game. Rather than venturing into dungeons to find unique, rare, powerful weaponry you can simply get weapons with silly effects from farming legendary dogs or radroaches. There are few (if any) unique guns in Fallout 4, just weapons that do different types of damage.

It's possible to have unique guns without adding dumb elemental effects to them. The other games managed that fine. They could have done something like the reloading bench from New Vegas and added shit like explosive ammo or high-impact ammo, or overcharging a laser rifle.

Yeah but the more damage against ghouls thing is dumb

Aside from naming a ghoul slaying .44 the Rick Grimes and a robot slaying plasma rifle the John Connor, I always prefer weapons that have no legendary effect or an incendiary ammo or something else conventional. If all the legendary effects made sense in the game universe, I'd be fine with it but I don't see how a gun fires two bullets or does more damage against mutants is particularly interesting. like, the Spray N'Pray is cool, but it loses its muster when you realise you could get the exact same thing from farming enemies for a while. And how does a radroach carrying a gauss rifle make sense? A deathclaw carrying armour can be justified, but some of the drops are just ridiculous.

Also, they can't be scrapped reeeeeeeee

Take away VATS
Take away perks
Take away fast travel
Take away percentage-based speech checks

there are so much more immersion breaking shit in even the early Fallouts than "omg this gun has an effect on it!!"
