Honestly?

I'd expect gen 1 re-remakes for the next handheld before a gen IV remake. Not only was it very forgettable, but it's not exactly aged and dated like the game boy generations were, and you're not gonna have the selling factor of nostalgia to a lot of the audience.

I just realized last week that Diamond and Pearl turn 9 years old this year. It doesn't even feel like that long ago. I just got Platinum last week. I hope Game Freak takes their time with the remakes because I'm in no rush.

Gen IV was terrible, but if they manage to fix the pacing, and keep Hoenn's Contest and Secret Bases, I would buy the fuck out of it.

You need at least one system to gap between remakes, so maybe on the 4DS. I wouldn't be surprised if we got Lava Red and Forest Green between now and then. Can't say I'd buy it, though.

We don't need a remake of Gen IV. We need a re-remake even less.

Probably, but it's not really likely.

The games haven't aged badly at all, aside from bringing stuff like a UI overhaul and 3D graphics there isn't really much to do to the Gen IV games. I like Gen IV, but not enough to get a remake really. It's always felt like the odd one out, I didn't buy them when they came out because I didn't get a DS until HGSS. I then got platinum and enjoyed that a fair amount, but it was a little... dry I guess. To go from the flavour of Hoenn, to the hyper nostalgia of HG, then Sinnoh... ehh...

It had some great pokemon, but a lot of really forgettable ones too.

I'd say I'm looking forwards more to a new Gen, 6 was great but the pokemon were a bit... meh... and Kalos was kind of... ehhh too. Too french. The game is brilliant, (XY) but I'd like to see something a bit more... creative I guess <.<

I hope they remake the piece of shit and actually make it good. The time it takes the player to do anything in the game is horrendously long. The save times can take up to a minute and every other part of the game feels like it is tracking (Side note I was going to say Tracting but according to Google that is a Mormon made up word. lol) through mud. Load times are horrible, animation times are horrible, load times for battle damage/animations for battle damage and health changing takes forever.

By far Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum are the worst Pokemon games to date because of the engine being horribly optimized. Hopefully if there is a remake it will fix all the asinine issues with the game.

Yes, it was the best gen, but tbh i'd rather see a Platinum remake as it was Diamond+Pearl+New shit, the Battle frontier was amazing, and it was just a far better version of Diamond and Pearl

I got the Ruby remake. Ruby was my favorite pokemon so this remake will probably be my last.

I don't own a 3DS, but I don't think I'd buy Gen 4 remakes anyway... the single player experience was a low point in the series.
