At least we can all agree Dark Souls 2 "hard for the sake of hard" is a fact. Those stupid add on's for bosses and what not are just retarded, and all they do is the same 3 swings.

1. Left

2. Right

3. Thrust/sweep
oh you hated fighting 2 gargoyles at once? Here, fight 6.

That was the stupidest thing ever. I was only able to complete it once. I didn't even think it was possible when I first started trying to beat them.
with 40 faith they get like two shotted by great lightning spear >.> that's the only way I ever killed them

The gaygoyles in II were a lot like the four kings. The faster you killed them, the less of a problem their numbers become. The longer you wait, and the more you wittle each gargoyle down instead of focusing all power on one at a time, the more showed up.

They activate based on the total boss health bar.

New game +3 with a greathammer, the slowest weapons in the game and they still haven't given me much trouble. Those midgets on the other hand....

It's their double shots right? You roll the first but they can shoot two arrows at once.

Fuck I wish that bow did that normally when I used it.

Why does everyone think DS2 was so hard? Shrine of Amana unpatched and the snowstorm area in the DLC were terrible, but other than that?
it wasn't that it was hard, it was that rather than making interesting boss mechanics they just did stuff like "here fight multiple bosses at once "

Dark souls 2 is much easier than dark souls 1 imo

Yeah, boss design is definitely lacking in most of DS2. There still are certain gems though, like Darklurker.
that's one thing I've always found kinda crazy about the souls game...

The dark lurker and the Capra demon never gave me any trouble...

But I still struggle with "easy" bosses like the sinner...

People think Dark Souls 2 is hard? I haven't heard anyone say that it's legit hard, more of the way it did things were dumb. Like how it made you fight a group of enemies without the option of taking them one on one often, and how the tracking was really dumb.

So people basically already beating this game? ö.ô
Someone online got the plat yesterday. I don't think anyone here is close to beating it.
Supposedly like a 60hr game.

Oh my god, screw that boss fight. That was literally the face of them running out of ideas. They even used the same music. I don't care how good you are, that fight is just unfair and retarded.

I found DSII to be easier than DSI. It's just that in DSII they did some stupid decisions to make the game difficult and instead got stupid hard out of it.

It's a lot more fast paced. Having played the previous Souls games really seems to have helped with my reflexes because I've got the dodging pretty spot on for the most part.

I really liked the Pursuer fight. It was what taught me to roll. I just wish 80% of the other bosses weren't just his knight mates.

It is pretty funny that people who shit all over Destiny, praise Bloodborne. They are the same, focused entirely on gameplay and the world. Bloodborne has little story and no character development. Yay for double standards.

Thats not really true. Destiny is in hot water due to its obvious cut content such as its story. Dark Souls is a game known for its environmental story telling and stories told from your encounters. So is the same with Bloodborne.

Destiny had many indications that it once had a fruitful story, only to now have it gutted and placed on B.net instead of the actual game.

As Brute said. Destiny was lobotomized game. And I played the demo when it was released, which was 25% of the retail game. So here's some key differences.

While arguably, both Bloodborne and Destiny have a central focus on the world and gameplay, those are the only similarities. And they're not even really similar.

In a dark souls-ish, spiritual successor type game, the world itself, the characters you meet, the weapons, the creatures, are the story. They all tell a fragmented story left to interpretation to the player. But the clues are all there. And one can argue that a game doesn't need to be character driven to tell a good, or interesting story. It can still be immersive without your central character having a personality.

And the souls-ish series excels at this. Destiny, on the other hand, had no interesting outside characters to even remember. Half the NPC's were just projectile vomit vendors who basically projectile vomited you quests and weapons.

And while Destiny was a pretty, beautiful well done world, it lacked something special. Atmosphere. It was like a painting with nothing in it.

Essentially, you could say Destiny and Bloodborne do focus on the same things. But Bloodborne actually knows what it's doing and plays to it's strengths, were Destiny sort of knew what it was doing and then it got lobotomized.

The difference here is the quality of the delivery.

not to mention destiny had like 6-8 hours of unique content and Bloodborne has 40-60
