If "drastically altered" means that you recognize that the character is attractive. I don't have trouble separating a character's personality from their body, I don't know if other people do.
Nobody said "drastically altered," either.
Sorry, "significantly impacts".

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
I never got the less armour = better stats thing some games seem to have. All less armour would do is make you more mobile, not give you better damage protection.

I never really got Skyrim's female model for the Steel Plate armour, either.

I don't think the average person realizes that concave armor is a huge practical problem.
Hollywood and what-not... I mean, if people don't see torches high up on the walls along with... magical bowls of fire... they don't think a castle is "middle ages" enough.

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
I always thought it was funny that Gears 3 highlighted that the female models weren't OTT in the sexual department...until you realise there must've been some fine print not mentioning Queen Myrrah:

I suppose they balanced it out with the Berserkers, fuck ugly monstrosities that could tear you a new hole, then rip it in half.

I suppose, but, like,

Dem boob armour is like they put two ceramic bowls in her shirt, and then shoved on some hip tassles for...reasons.

If anything, it's just sexualising badly.

Third-person games with female protagonists typically display those characters in a way that gives players a full-body view.

No kidding

I'm not sure what there is to complain about the video. It's a legitimate point and like all of her videos she backs it up with a lot of examples from triple-A games. Maddox is completely right that it happens to guys -- especially in the medium he was criticizing (comics) -- but nobody can deny how rampant and purposeful stuff like this is.

And yeah, sexualization is subjective and not inherently bad, but in games it's almost entirely gratuitous and devoid of purpose or artistic value. I really want to disagree with her videos but I haven't been able to yet.

Yeah there is a mod which removes the breastplates because, ya know, those things will easily kill you. I never understood there need to throw breast plates on all the armor to say "hey it's a girl!" since breastplates are insanely dangerous on armor and practically asking someone to collapse your chest.

Just made them a bit more thin like that mod does.

Skyrim's designs and thought process for things though doesn't surprise me that they'd do this. And it's where the realism for armor and the medieval setting breaks down (ignoring magic and all that I mean).

I think Gears 3 is a bad example with women equality because they try to make it seem they're just as physically capable as men and try so hard to say "WOMEN CAN BE TOUGH TOO!!!"

There are more ways to show how women are capable than trying to make them be exactly like the men. Last of Us did a great job at it actually.

But Gears never had good writing anyway, so does it really surprise me? No.

Honestly, I was always surprised GOT never tried that with their armour, considering everything else on the show >.>

I think despite the breasts, they kept the armor realistic, which makes me more than happy. Anyone who even does the slightest research on plate armor knows breast plate armor is dangerous.

Oh yeah.

That entire storyline was awful anyway, so I'm hardly surprised.
