Don't be a stealth archer, because it's god awful boring. Try something different.

Go Imperial because you don't need racist xenophobes with tunnel vision running the system

I'd say play on normal (adept) difficulty if trying something new, if only to get used to it. Also make sure to download mods like the alternate start mod, and such.

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
Try not to be a jack of all trades character and get perks in multiple skill trees. Try to focus on just a few skill trees so you can get all the perks in those. You'll miss out on some cool perks if you try to level up multiple skill trees. If you want to go as a stealth archer, then level up Archery and Sneak as there are perks that stack with each other in both trees for you to do the most damage output as possible.

When you're out traveling around and happen to come across ore veins, equip your pickaxe and swing at the veins so you don't have to sit through the animation. If you dual wield pickaxes and do this, you'll get double the ore.

If you don't want to be a vampire and happen to fight some and contact that vampire disease, make sure to get this cured immediately. There are Potions of Cure Disease sold at nearly every merchant and its nice to have some of these on you at all times. If you want to become a werewolf, you're immune to all diseases.

Don't waste your time buying weapons and armor at merchants because chances are you'll find that weapon and armor set you want when you're exploring. If you find weapons and armor with enchantments on them and you don't plan on using those weapons, you can either sell them or take them to an arcane table and learn the enchantment on that item. Also, always pick up Soul Gems too so you can recharge your enchanted equipment.

Also if you're playing on PC download the SkyUI mod. It makes the in-game menu MUCH better and easier to navigate/find items.

Yeah, I only figured that out just a month ago.

Sorry, but if you've played stealth archer in it before, you should try to change it up. Otherwise it's boring. Plus he asked for suggestions, so.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm gonna have to go 0/4. :p

I'm not a big fan of magic and the melee combat in Skyrim is pretty shoddy, imo. So I'm gonna stick with the stealth archer. I like it.

Also went with the Stormcloaks because fuck the system and I think I went Imperial last time.

Playing on Expert / Master because anything lower seems too much of a breeze.

And no mods yet, because they disable achievements.
Regardless of what difficulty you play then, it'll be easy. I COULD say change it up a bit for stealth. For example I only use my bow to hit walls to turn enemies around. Otherwise I slice their throats with a dagger.

Stormcloak is okay. I'm not touching it even when doing the main story since you can do the cool treaty thing I've never done before.

the only thing i wouldn't do is play on expert or whatever

because bethesda's understanding of "higher difficulty" amounts to "durr enemy do more damage and have big health"

as in, it's not inherently more challenging--it just takes longer

so unless you want to make the fights more tedious, i'd avoid that

I'm lvl 51 with 100 Sneak and One Handed. At this point my main way of levelling up is to try out a different combat style because I've hit a brick wall

That's actually a good reason to go with them. In the end, there's no real differences between the sides, right? I mean, in terms of how it shapes the world and options / rewards you get.
Nah it's really just who you find most compelling.

I mean you'll see a few more Imperial/Stormcloaks roaming around after you complete the storyline but no, it doesn't really impact the world in any significant way.

I have as you already know, vanilla Skyrim combat is boring and archery was the most fun I could get out of it. But that wasn't exactly by much

I don't understand why you're not modding it if you got it for the Xbox. That's the entire point of getting it again.
