Because playing oblivion,,evrrything looked off and weird. Probably one of the only times, if not the only time, that the visuals pf a game actively put me off playing. Even weirder because (what little I played of) morrowind was fine for me, though I didn't play it for long because it was at a friend's house.

I thought it had much better quests and characters, at the very least. Getting loot from Oblivion Gates made me feel like I was actually helping somewhat, even though I wasn't doing the main quest line. Part of Skyrim's problem is that it felt like finishing the main quest had little to no impact on the rest of the world.

i cant make a character that looks half decent without mods, and that turns me off a lot. havent been able to play oblivion since skyrim came out.

No. Oblivion was easily the worst game in the entire series. The game had about as much depth as Skyrim, the combat was shit, even for it's time period, the UI was trash, the game looked like garbage (Fucking Morrowind looked better aesthetically.), the scaling and levelling system was a trainwreck, copypaste dungeons everywhere, the plot was worse than Skyrim's, horse armor, and last but not least, they fucking BUTCHERED Cyrodiil. BUTCHERED IT!


People need to take off the nostalgia goggles. Oblivion was fucking garbage.

They are, though. The lore, the world, the quests. You really get lost in these games.

The quests were great. Not as much as Oblivion, but they were still great.

What is your definition of great?

Story was good. I'm not sure what type of story they're supposed to come up with to satisfy you.

Well having about as much story as Halo 3 certainly didn't help.

Combat is not the greatest. I think a combo system should be implemented.

I didn't run into a single game breaking bug and I played nonstop since launch day.

Just because you didn't encounter any doesn't mean they aren't a major issue. I had to restart the entire game three times because of glitches and bugs that broke quests.

There's something wrong with Alduin?

I'm assuming you haven't actually fought him then?
