Ripped straight from my Original Xbox. I ripped these awhile back and forgot that I had them. I did it thanks to softmodding it which allowed me to access the raw files via FTPing.

Yes, the files are in .wav but they are raw. Downloading these files will work right off the bat in the Unity engine, but having these files and playing them on Windows Media Player will not work. You will have to reconvert each .wav file if you want them to play. There is a reason why I didn't touch them, but I'll make a copy and reconvert them tomorrow if you want Windows Media Player or whatever audio program you use to listen to music to play them. You can even convert specific files you want by going to this website: http://media.io/

These are the actual Original Xbox Dashboard sounds, ripped straight from my console. You may go ahead and do whatever you like with them, I doubt Microsoft is going to care, however I would avoid using these for anything commercial as Microsoft could potentially sue you for copyright, if they give enough of a damn that is. Again, I doubt they'll care now. They pretty much abandoned the Original Xbox.

Anywho, have fun with these. Enjoy Sep7agon.

UPDATE!: MP3 version now avaiable! No need to convert unless you want to!: https://www.mediafire.com/?iyrp5m6q03nm6si

Wow, very nice. I never thought of extracting them from my own Xbox.

The boot up sound and then the background noise that sounds like radio chatter...so cool. Still play my original once in a while. Thing's a tank.

Your Xbox has to be softmodded in order to extract anything. This includes game files from a disc as well.

At least it was designed well. Mine is 13 years old already.

So... I guess I'm going to have to pick up after your horrendous mistakes on here too?
Well done, indeed.

I'm impressed.

It's really not that hard actually. I believe anyone can do this. It just requires learning how to use the tools you have.

Before my local game store closed down, I was quick enough to get a copy of Splinter Cell and I got a USB to Original Xbox cable to transfer the files to the consoles HDD. I even put the said files in a memory unit as a backup for the future.

After softmodding it, you can FTP into the console and if you go wth an HDD upgrade, you can FTP games to the HDD and play it off the HDD.

For an FTP client, I use FileZilla. It's free and open source, I recommend it.
