In summary - embrace art as the artist envisioned it. And if you do not like it, critique it but do not say that something is bad because YOU did not like it because you did not see yourself in that piece.
What is the point of a critique if nothing is allowed to be changed?
To feel smug and good about yourself.
Entitled to opinion [check]
Entitled to creative control [nope]
Even if you're able to convince the developer of their wrongdoing?
There is no wrong-doing unless it breaks gameplay. Everything else it up to them. If they listen to you and realise that the suggested change would improve their wok - great!
So let's say that Blizzard admits that having less sexualized women would exponentially improve their game.

You wouldn't whine about that? It's their artistic choice.
At this stage theyve clearly been convinced to change,  so it wasnt what they originally wanted, and come on artist ideals dont change that easily.

Lastly if that was the plan from the get go, then awesome!

My point is that I'm not for coercion. I'm not trying to say that developers should be forced to make their games better. They should be convinced, peacefully. And if they don't listen, or make things even worse, then we boycott.

So basically its, "you better make the choice we wont you to make or we riot"

We has artistic freedom gone? Shit an ass isnt even bad, but people let Hatred be published.  Now that right there is trash.

Boycotts aren't riots, you fucking idiot. You're simply refusing to buy a company's products in protest. You can't get much more peaceful than that.

You're a moron.

Ahen

'an impressively large or varied display of something'

It would be an impressively large display of consumers not buying a product, technically a riot. So way to fling those mindless insults.

Lastly you must realize by now that for every feminist that disagrees there is about a thousand normal people who dont care and will just buy. So if anything your helping us weed you out.

And we thank you for that

You had to use Google's second definition of "riot," how pathetic. Second definitions for nouns are often reserved for colloquial meanings. It is not the LEGAL definition of riot.

Look at the example sentence that they give: "The garden was a riot of color."
That's clearly not how you're trying to use the word riot.

No, a riot is a violent outburst by a large group of people. That's what a riot is. You fucking stupid fuck.

I've never seen a more gross misuse of a word in my life.

I always felt that argument was a slippery slope. Even if you don't buy something that has a negative stigma, the message is still being sent.

Unless there is massive boycotts or something.

How is sexualized characters negative again? You could say it makes women feel worse about themselves or something similar, in that regard I could say the same for male characters. Usually someone will always say it's different for males because it makes them feel empowered, I don't understand this logic. Why is it empowering when we have sexualized males but empowering to females? If you have body issues and don't like that female characters are designed better than you, it sounds more like a personal issue than a social one.

Because sex is disgusting, loathsome, and vile. Biologically, its only function is to produce children, which is terrible in and of itself--but the fact that we have become so obsessed with it as a society is a mark of shame on all of humanity. It's a perverted, childish degeneracy that speaks nothing of our intelligence, but everything that makes us suck as a species. The fact that we allow our minds to be SO overcome by a pair of breasts or a few rigid bumps on the stomach just makes us so crass, so superficial, and so stupid, it's an absolute affront to anything with nuance or intellectual merit.

If anything, the only justification to have our carnal desires represented in art is to showcase just how horrifically abhorrent it is. How much it controls us, how addicted to it some of us are, and especially how the cravings for it can turn even the most reasonable person on Earth into a perniciously concupiscent pig. It's like a drug.

Beyond that, it has no place in art, in my eyes. Let alone video games. I see no beauty in it whatsoever. It is, without question, the #1 thing that disgusts me the very most about the human race. The fact that we're so obsessed with shoving our piss organs into each other as a bizarre expression of affection. Because kissing just isn't good enough.

Sexuality should be shunned, not celebrated.

That's not what I would say. I would agree with you--Men are also sexualized, and that's also a problem. Two wrongs don't make a right. The point is, they're not sexualized as much. The short end of the stick goes to women, because they are sexualized far more often, and in more gratuitous, yet increasingly socially-acceptable, ways. I want it ALL dismantled.

I'd argue you're being a little excessive. There are certain aspects of sex and sexuality that negatively affect peoples' perception of each other, and we should be cautious to let sexuality influence our decision-making when rational and morally significant problems are put in front of us. But while it isn't the most useful and wonderful facet of human nature, I don't see any real inconvenience gathered by finding people attractive because of their features and wanting to mess around as a result. I agree that when society has come to prioritize sex above other things, it's a problem, and that's something we should try to ease off of. But to go off on such a massive, hateful rant about the basic concept of two people having sex, to me, is sort of silly.

Sex is "Loathsome and vile" in the same sense that any basic process and nature can be boiled down to something that's either "Disgusting" or excessively complicated. There are underlying and often distasteful ways of representing most natural things, but that doesn't mean that you aren't allowed to enjoy them so long as nobody is being hurt in the process. You can spin those same processes in a different way and end up with something that a lot of people will argue is beautiful and fascinating.

Sure, sex is a bit gross when you get down to what's "Really going on." But the nature of sex, the act of sharing something so intimate and personal with a partner and experiencing that level of pleasure with them, is something that I think is fine. The overarching emotional consequences of having sex with someone you love easily outweigh whatever sort of distaste I think is appropriate to be given towards details of the physical act.

Well, I also forgot to mention that it's used as a marketing ploy. It's something to be taken advantage of. Games can't just look interesting or fun on their own merit. Women cannot be interesting on their own merit. At least, according to game designers. And people buy into it.

Yes, it's possible to have an interesting or detailed or strong female character that is still physically attractive.

But what gets advertised more?
What gets exploited more?
What do people buy the games for?

Oh no, I don't disagree with anything that you're saying in regards to feminism and how it wrestles with depictions of girls in video games. I'm more so speaking about your perception of sex at its core. I think girls are sexualized way too much in media and that it's something that isn't doing humanity any good.

This is only sort of relevant, but I've never really seen a good opportunity to tell you; If you ever get your hands on an Xbox 360, I'd highly recommend playing Red Dead Redemption. I say that because, on top of the fact that the game is just fantastic from a gameplay and story perspective, I think you'd actually appreciate the female characters in the game more than anything. They're some of the strongest female characters I've ever seen in... Anything, really, and I think the game as a whole is very empowering to women.

I'd be a mindless piece of shit, then, because all of the arguments I've made against sexuality have been philosophical in nature. At no point did I ever say "sex does not feel good" or "sex is not pleasurable." I merely argued that, from an objective perspective outside of the limited realm of humanity, sex is a disgusting act. It doesn't matter how I personally think it feels--it's still disgusting regardless.

So no. You're wrong. Would I enjoy having sex? Probably. I'm a disgusting piece of shit human being.

But that's the point. Human beings are disgusting pieces of shit who enjoy doing disgusting piece of shit things.

That some crazy mental gymnastics you go through.

egalitarian - of, relating to, or believing in the principle that all people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities.

Feminism - the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.

An egalitarian is equality for all. Feminism is specifically for women.

I don't think you understand my depressed edge-lord.

Feminism is specifically for WOMEN, not everyone. Unlike, Egalitarianism.
You said that in order to be an Egalitarian you have to be a Feminist, that doesn't make sense if you're advocating for one group of people. You doublethinking, dunce.

Egalitarianism covers all the bases. So for your dumbass to espouse, "I'm a feminist, meninist, treeist too!" Doesn't make the slightest sense if you're already under a group that quite literally covers EVERYONE.
