I will concede this: Hexes, and Dark Magic in DkS1 are bullshit. There is no arguing that in the slightest. The reason to why Fromsoft decided to give nobody but casters any from of Dark Defense eludes me, hell not even casters had that in DkS1.

Agree. Plus, dark magic made PvE a cakewalk. Once you got Dark Bead/Pursuer it was easy mode.

Edit: Forgot about the Silver Pendant in regards to defense from Dark Magic.

Agree. Plus, dark magic made PvE a cakewalk. Once you got Dark Bead/Pursuer it was easy mode.

Edit: Forgot about the Silver Pendant in regards to defense from Dark Magic.

Silver pendant actually broke Pursuers even more, since the person casting it could use it to launch them early.

Anyone know a good place to put down a White Sign? I'm making no progress trying to farm the Demon Prince because of hosts being hosts, and Lothric castle is fucking barren.

Why do so many people have problems against the Demon Prince? It's probably the easiest boss in the game once you have any idea of what you are doing/

I think depending on which one you kill first in the double fight, he has a different moveset as the Demon Prince

Double bosses are horse shit. Demon Prince is on the lesser side of offenders but a double boss is a double boss.

Deacons was the first successful boss fight (took 3 games(kys i wont argue this)) with more than one enemy but it was too easy in return.

Why do people like the Friede & Ariandel fight, it's so annoying and uninteresting.

The first phase is alright, not really hard unless it takes you a while to figure out you can just rush her while invisible, like what happened to me.

Second phase is honestly one of the most boring Dark Souls boss I've fought. Ariandel just slams his bowl diagonally across the arena, and Friede just spams the one ice trail attack over and over and over. It's about as interesting as that congregation boss in Dark Souls 2.

And then the third phase is just the first with some dark magic explosions. I don't really have a problem with the third phase, but getting to it is pretty boring.

Congrats, they're probably the hardest 2 for a SL1 run.

That pyro damage on O&S and Manus though. I had no idea and did all melee with RTSR on my playthrough. Fuck me.

Yeah, for some reason in DS1 if you use magic boosting equipment it will also boosts pyromancy damage. That's why in some of the vids I'm wearing the Dusk Crown and Bellowing Dragoncrest ring. That gives an extra 40% damage.

Dark Souls is slower and more methodical, you cant just spam attacks.

Tangent: Can anyone recommend a laptop that can play DkS 1? As small & inexpensive as possible. Going on deployment in a few months and need my fix.

I don't consider every game with a sword a "hack n slash", just those where a lot of time spent is slashing at enemies with ridiculous health bars.

The worst part about doing a DS2 SL1 playthrough is the low ADP. Because of this it took Smelter 2 hours.

How much ADP do yall recomend? Probably the hardest thing about New games in DkS2 is starting out having to level ADP. I usually go to 17 or 20.

Here's a good thread on it. Personally, I use to go with 25-35 when I played pvp.
