Humans branded with it can respawn at bonfires but go insane after some time; in Demon's Souls the player's soul is captured by the nexus. But as far as Zelda canon goes, Link is never killed in the game except for when he's revived by fairies.

Yes. When you die and reemerge at a bonfire in Dark Souls it is to be taken as something that actually happened to them, hence the whole undead curse thing. It also explains the re-appearing enemies.

So then, since this is the Chosen Undead I'm assuming This is Dark Souls 1....and after checking Mugenmonkey, he could comfortably become a mid rolling Havel Hexer with access to the Moonlight Greatword or Great-sythe with Crystal Magic weapon and the max cast speed. Even Giantdad was only an Sl 99 build.

Link is probably fucked by the Pursuer/Dark-bead combo

Link is a feelgood PG10 hero. By the time he's done a formal bow to start off the duel, Chosen has stunlocked and killed him in 2 hits with a +5 chaos Zweihander.

Can Link be stunlocked? I don't recall his attacks being interrupted in the games except when he's knocked back.

The only time I can think of is when he's shocked, so we'll call that a weakness to lightning, with a high resistance to fire and magic (sheild + tunics).

well in dark souls you do collect souls within yourself, and in sould 2 there are other objects including the gaping ring capable of collecting them. That said, the absorption of souls does not seem to prevent rekindling.

Hello random idea. Would be cool if a souls game just pulled the rug out from under your feet one day. At some point your curse is lifted and you can fully die, but you've still got shit to do so you've got no choice but to do an end section of the game fully mortal.
