Have shiny Pokemon have lost their specialness? I mean, they are so easy to obtain now.  What do you think?

they're a lot less special now, yeah

someone told me they lost meaning since AR was invented, but like, you don't have to use AR
just like you don't have to use any methods or tricks to get any

but i mean, they even increased the chance of you finding one in the wild--the one "legit" way
and it shows--i once found two shinies practically back to back in Gen VI, just by walking in grass

edit:
that actually had a 1/16,777,216 chance of happening
that's pretty intense

FYI, the previous probability was 1/8192

now it's 1/4096

1/819 if you're taking hordes into account

Yeah, they aren't as special as they used to be. Hacks are prevalent, and the odds of encountering one in Gen 6 was reduced.

Shiny Pokemon still have their meaning. They are rare Pokemon with minor color changes to their pallet. They are nice easter eggs and are still a commodity amount traders. Matsuda Method and other methods take hours and sometimes days to get even 1 Shiny Pokemon.

Shiny Charm is a decent motivator to complete the Pokedex and as such is a proper reward for collectors.

Odds were reduced, significantly more in Friend Safari. You could find almost one every hour in there. Then there's a chain fishing too, but every knows that's for scrubs.

It's understandable for legendaries though because there are no other methods to obtain their shiny versions asides from dumb luck.

Then we have Garchomp.

A little bit, yeah.

I think it depends on how you got it though.

Say you SR'd 3000 times to get it, that's a lot of work so the reward of finally getting the shiny will probably make it quite special for you. Same with Masuda Method, even if it's a guaranteed shiny eventually the effort/work put in makes the reward a bit more special.

Hacks/ARs though, that takes all of the fun away.

I've got quite a lot of shinies from all of the methods apart from SR/Hacks and I think this is roughly how I'd rank it in terms of satisfaction for finding.

1. Masuda Method
2. Random Encounter
3. Wondertrade
4. Chaining

Ish.

How does one become a Bad Member?
One does not simply become a bad member.
The meaning behind your Pokemon is the one you make it out to be. If you love your team, and each Pokemon in it then their worth goes as far you desire. Shiny Pokemon are rare, but they are even more unique. I think that Pokemon is the only game that the worth of a Pokemon goes as far as the player makes it out to be.

I never regretted trading a Charizard for a Lapras albeit some people mocked me. I love that Lapras.

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.
I've played pretty much every generation and I've only found one.

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
The only meaning they ever had to me was quicker EV training from the pokerus. Those training minigames made that obsolete.

I tend to prefer most regular pokemons' colors to their shinies' anyway.

Not every shiny has Pokérus, though. In fact, I'm pretty sure shinies have the same chance of having Pokérus as any other Pokémon. That is to say, 1/21,845.

In 6th gen Shiny Garchomp isn't as bad, though. Especially his mega.
