If it's true, it's going to be hilarious how no one here will give a shit, yet we're all up-in-arms about Bungie doing the same thing.
Honestly if some retard wants to buy it I dont care, its fueling 343's money supply so that they can give us huge amounts of content for free.

Except 343 isn't pay-walling the majority of the game content behind a season pass
ot entire events and your stat-sheets behind microtransactions

There's no difference in what both companies are doing. You're letting your bias affect your judgement.
Destiny you're paying for game-altering bonuses that effect all modes of the game.
Quote from: Essessen on December 17, 2015, 10:44:10 PMDestiny you're paying for game-altering bonuses that effect all modes of the game. Not really. You'd unlock these "game-altering bonuses" with a few hours of gameplay anyways. It's a stupid fucking purchase, $45 to skip 4-7 hours of "work", but to call it "game-altering" is just a ridiculous stretch. The difference in gameplay between CLASSES in Destiny is negligible. The difference between subclasses? Even more so.
Except that's what Bungie just started doing now. They've been doing other shit for a whole year, which is what I was referring to. Very different things.

Very different things. To be clear, I've been specifically referring to Bungie's $45 subclass boosters ITT. But I'm curious -- where else has Bungie provided game-altering benefits to those who pay through the nose?
I never bought the game, but they had opened a trading store in the game some while back where players can use real money to buy various things.
Their DLC plan also gives better loot if you buy it, if not you're SOL
Quote from: Essessen on December 17, 2015, 10:55:34 PMI never bought the game, but they had opened a trading store in the game some while back where players can use real money to buy various things. Thus far, the only thing you've been able to buy is emotes. And the recently added suclass boosters. Nothing that drastically alters gameplay at all.QuoteTheir DLC plan also gives better loot if you buy it, if not you're SOLDo you mean, like, you're not capable of acquiring DLC weapons and armour if you don't buy the DLC? Why would you expect to play with DLC content without paying the price...?
If you buy DLC you get better gear than those that didn't buy it. You still get to play with the people that didn't buy it.

Because that doesn't matter in PvP most of the time. And the times it does matter in PvE are only avaliable to those who bought the DLC, so... kind of a non-issue.
