You either die a hero or live long enough to become Mythic..
Ya know. As annoying as hell as you can be Verb

I wouldn't mind watching videos or streams of you. As long as you don't start any debates.

Pretty sure someone already mentioned this earlier. You can use boss souls either to get a large amount of souls instantly or to create a unique boss weapon. Souls are easily farmed (especially at later stages in the game) while you only get one such boss soul a playthrough. Obviously better to keep just them, unless you find yourself in a situation where you really need the souls.

Just read the item description of the souls, it'll tell you what you need to know.

The boss weapons were definitely mentioned, but I don't think the process of making one was. Whatevs, good to know.

I don't normally consume my souls anyway.

One thing that I found different between multiple playthroughs was actually in the grinding. Since your skill at the game increases, the large soul dropping enemies (bosses) become easier, and the progression is more straight through without as much grinding. Even if you don't have the stats from pure leveling, your skill can weather down most bosses once you know their shtick. That's when I started enjoying the game most.

When I play now, I hardly do any grinding, but when I first started I did a lot of grinding because the challenge of the game encouraged that playstyle. I cautiously approached everything and wanted to prepare myself for every encounter, my paranoia and low skill fed a desire for getting more levels, hence souls and grinding.

Yeah each boss soul creates a unique weapon from a base weapon in the game.

The only reason I grind is to get enough Souls to level up my equipment

Oh, forgot about this. I usually don't have to farm souls for boosting equipment, but the titanite?
Yes, and either way you have to farm something. Since I usually get items that require twinkling in the first areas, I have to farm. It's the worst part of every playthrough.
Spoiler
Fucking clams!

I usually just play with the Claymore so my grinding consists of farming Anor Londo then running to the Blacksmith and back

I don't even have to farm clams, I just like maxing out my damage early and decimating enemies. I don't remember if the giant smith sells twinkling (maybe he does for 8000?) but I'd never buy it. By that point in the game you're close to having the lordvessel and teleporting to ash lake and killing clams for twinkling on the fly... for free. Before that point you don't have access to him and have to go through the great hollow to ash lake, so I do that.

Verb seems like a likable person in the video, now if that could just translate over to this site that would be wonderful.

Joking aside I enjoyed that video and I am looking forward to more.

I just remembered something.

Going with Verb's particular philospies and that they tend to translate over into gameplay in some regards, I wanna see what he chooses at the end of the game.

Assuming he finds out what's going on...

Are you planning on making more videos, Verb?

I wanna put something up tomorrow, but I've been preoccupied with some college stuff. Heavy workload this week.

We'll see what happens. I might alternate between videos and text updates for the time being.

All right, got tons of footage recorded. This is gonna take awhile to edit.

My commentary sucked balls, unfortunately, so I'm gonna try post-commentary instead.

Ugh.

Okay, here's the deal. Editing this video is taking far too long for my tastes, and I'm not exactly having a blast doing it. So, moving forward, I think I'll be predominantly posting text-based updates from this point on. I'll still record game footage, but only actually make a video if something particularly important, interesting, or otherwise worth showing... happens.

The thing is, I want this game beat before Dark Souls III comes out--that was my initial plan. Things aren't really looking good right now, in terms of that goal--but I'm beginning to realize that the amount of time I'm spending editing this video could be much better spent actually progressing through the game.

I hate to disappoint  those of you who like the video idea--but like I said, I'm not gonna just stop altogether. I just don't want it to waste too much time editing them. If I put up a video, I want to make sure it's actually worth watching--I don't wanna bore you guys, and I don't wanna spend any more time editing videos every single night. I get extremely exhausted with it, because I'm doing many other things on top of this playthrough. So, yeah. Please understand <_<

I'll continue editing this video just because I don't want all that time I spent on it to go to waste. After that, expect text updates for at least until something especially cool happens. Okay? Okay.

Yeah...

I don't really have an excuse, tbh. I'm just not really feeling it lately.

I'll post something eventually, and after that, I'll get back into the groove of things.

You do you boo boo, dark souls can be pretty daunting, it's easy to get sidetracked.

If I don't have something up by this weekend, I'll just scrap the video entirely and post a text update instead--just because I don't wanna leave you guys hanging. After that, I have a plan to get videos out a lot sooner. I'll go into that later.

Lately, I've been preoccupied with Pokémon and Majora's Mask 3D. It's hard for me to juggle more than two games at once, soooo yeah. Please understand™, and such.
