The thing that makes Oblivion stand up when compared to Skyrim, is the writing, and presentation. Hell even the voice acting too, and it was only with like 5 people. Skyrim's writing and voice acting are horrible. The quests are just uncreative and boring as well.

I imagine if I'd played it before skyrim, I'd have been impressed/able to enjoy it etcbut trying to do so after skyrim... it was just hell.Potato faced, daemon reptile hell.

As far as presentation goes, at least Skyrim got the setting right. Everything about Cyrodiil was such a massive dissapointment. They didn't even come close to doing it justice. We could have gotten this. Instead, we got generic, LOTRfied, bullshit. Also, Skyrim's voice acting wasn't that bad. Sure, some of it was cringy, but it's still better than hearing the same five people over and over again.
Morrowind > New Vegas > Fallout 3 = Skyrim > Oblivion.

FO4 I have not yet played, so I'm not going to judge that yet.
